The George Hotel and Beach Club

Great location in historical building, great food, great staff, beautiful outside bar area great views

Room given was poorly maintained stained ceiling, door handle came off, marks and stains on walls, in a corner of the building were rooms not at the same standard as the other rooms, for the price felt a bit aggrieved.

Location and outdoor space. Dining room very nice and breakfast staff and service and choice excellent.

Miserable and unhelpful reception staff . Tired decor in staircases.

The George has been a destination in Yarmouth for boaters for as long as I can remember. I understand it was refurbished sometime ago but still retains an element of historic charm. I thought the staff were welcoming and helpful.

The hotel is tired and needs some investment. B&B there for two nights was far too expensive for what it was. The garden and beach club is an odd description given there isn’t a place for residents to just relax, but it’s probably one of the better places to visit for a meal. We didn’t eat there but the breakfast was a good offer and definitely prepared by someone that cared.

Lovely character hotel in the heart of picturesque town. Great location on the edge of the Solent.

For the cost I expected the room to be serviced without asking.

Everything seemed to be done to save money

I’ve stayed here a few times now over a few years and it definitely needs up dating. This time we stayed in a family room which is more shabby than chic! It’s very tired and the room felt unloved. The garden was closed for refurb which wasn’t disclosed up front and given it’s the highlight of the hotel was disappointing.
