Central Apart Hotel 2BR Flats-EASY Walk to City Centre-Parking

Spacious and comfortable apartment, walking distance to the city centre and free parking.

Complicated check-in as I had to provide credit card information twice (for payment and then deposit). The communication through the Booking.com system looked like a scam initially. Common areas in the building were dirty.

Great location for walking into the centre of Cambridge. I was pleasantly surprised to have essentials like tea bags, coffee, salt + pepper to use. Spacious lounge and lovely bathroom.

A bit cramped for 4 adults + 2 kids but would be perfectly fine for 4 adults alone. The walls and carpet would benefit from a freshen up.

Close to river, coops and pubs.

Staff was awful, xhwck-in process cumbersome, very poor communication quality, links did not work, wifi did not work, no resolution or communication for hours, they ghosted us, company is only out for money, not making guests comfortable, standardized emails that do not respond to questions, threats everywhere: if you leave on lights, turn off this or that or don‘t turn it off we will charge you. WE WILL CHARGE YOU! No black out curtains in kitchen, windows don‘t open, fans are not enough, basket from dish washer (which we couldn‘t turn on) missing, cracks in sink and mirror.

Beds were incredibly squeaky, really bad and creaked every time we moved even a little bit. They need changed! The shower leaked and soaked the bathroom floor. The weather was very hot when we were there and we couldn’t figure out how to work the electric heaters/air conditioners. They switched on, but no cool air came out. The flat was stifling, but we were able to open the windows slightly and they had two big floor fans, which were good. To be fair, the letting company were very responsive to emails, so they possibly could’ve helped if we’d messaged about it.

signs around the apartment threatening fines for unplugging wifi or using electicity while outside the apartment - slightly creepy if probably unfounded statement that 'they can track when we are in and out of the apartment and how much electricity we are using'. Not a pleasant feeling No 'host' - all communications is with a corporate team through booking.com messages, different respondent each time (although tbf generally helpful replies) Difficult to pay - after giving credit card details to booking.com and having the rental confirmed, then had to pay again through a dedicated non-booking.com portal, very stressful as they wouldnt release check in details without it (and there is no indication when booking that this will be needed). An onerous/one-sided contract to sign, after confirming thru booking.com. These matters should be made much clearer when making the original (non-cancellable) booking thru booking.com. In the end, no issues, but not a good business practice. Be aware

Spacious apartment, clean. Fine for 2 adults and 3 children. Had most of the amenities. Nice comfortable stay for the budget.
