Modish and Spacious Apartments at The Exchange on Erwin in Durham, North Carolina

The apartment and facilities are lovely. The convenience to the Duke campus is perfect.

I am concerned about what I saw grounds crew spraying around the property. I don’t know what it was but my 2 small dogs became seriously ill and had to be hospitalized. I do not know if it was related or not. There is no way to know, but both of them had “toxicity” illnesses. I wonder about the outdoor safety. Otherwise, the grounds are lovely and really well maintained. Also, the white carpets and white couch are impractical for rental/visitors and the living room “woven” rug was very tough on the feet and was falling apart.

Comfortable, spacious, well appointed apartment. Convenient location near Duke Hospital and plenty of nearby restaurants.

Check-in instructions had 2 different apartment numbers, and code didn’t work on either one. Called the phone number and issue was quickly resolved. There were no instructions other than for the Wi-Fi. Could not figure out how to get regular TV channels. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher. No instructions how to access workout facility.

I had outpatient surgery and a medical appointment at Duke the following day. The 2 bedroom apartment gave my two daughters and me plenty of space to rest, eat takeout, wash clothes. Lots of good restaurants nearby.

I understood I’d receive an email with all needed codes. Realized we didn’t have such upon arrival at property gate. Had to call. Were told building 3. Could not find any number 3. Address took us to right building so code worked for door. When we got to apartment, door code didn’t work. Top row of #s weren’t activating. Had to call again. Didn’t find wifi info till half way through stay. Perhaps note needed in reservation that it’s framed and hanging in entryway. There was mention of a key but saw no key. Used keypad to unlock door.
