"Very pleasant weekend. Good location, handy for the town and harbour. Staithes is a lovely place."

Cottage was very nice, just as anticipated. Good location, handy for a local pub with excellent food (Captain Cod?) and also chip shop.

"Cosy, clean and good value."

10.0

Very comfortable and clean. Convenient for a walk down into Staithes. Cosy and well equipped with a lovely large shower in the bathroom. Very clean and well equipped kitchen. Parking just outside at the back of the property is a bonus in Staithes.

I cannot think of anything not to like!

"Pleasant cottage. Convenient location for exploring the North Yorkshire coast."

9.0

Spacious comfortable house with pleasant kitchen, dining and lounge area and off-street parking (big bonus in Staithes). Close to shops and bus stop and short walk down to the historic centre/waterfront. Good value. These Yorkshire fishing villages mean a trade-off between atmosphere, views in the old centres and convenience, space, parking etc in the newer sections. This is a good example of the second option. Staithes is lovely and can also be used as a base for other areas e.g Whitby, Saltburn and walking on the Cleveland Way.

Not in the historic waterfront area - about 15 minutes' walk down a steep hill. (This was not unexpected but and suited us - but visitors may want to note). Parking was fine for one vehicle but would be difficult for a second in the small garage. The second bedroom is very small is not "twin beds" but a pull-out children's bed. We regretted not taking the option of using the sofa-bed in the lounge area.

"Good break though it felt like the property just needs a few touches to finish it off ."

7.0

The property was ideally placed for our break

On arrival we found the single beds were in fact truncated beds so they were not ideal for a lad 6ft 2 in height . Also one of the mattresses had a couple of blood stains on them , also we were done a bath towel as enough hasn’t been left out , but this was soon sorted by the host . Also the paint could do with a freshen up as it was peeling away in places especially on the stairway .

"Very nice cottage in a very handy location"

8.0

Location was very good, a pleasant walk down the hill to the quay side. It is a short steepish climb back to the top of the village but only to be expected in a coastal fishing village. Also having parking at the rear of the property was handy The cottage was pretty well equipped too but never found the hairdryer!

The cottage could have done with a touch of decorating and freshening up of accessories but it was the back end of the season. It didn't have some of the extra touches that some properties offer but all was fine and the price reasonable
