Hauz Khas village is a lovely area, though this hotel is in a very untidy courtyard, away from the road, not reachable by tuktuk or taxi, and is unlit at night. My taxi couldn't find it so I was dropped off on the road and was left to wander around on my own, asking locals for help. Messages to the hotel for instructions were not answered. The check in experience was the worst I've had in almost a year of travel in India. No greeting, no smile - he just barked words at me. Passport! Visa! Fill out this form! Sign here! Give me passport size photo! Give me money! The hotel provided 2 small bars of soap, but no toilet paper or towel. After asking twice for towels, they brought 1 (for 2 people staying in the room). The door has an old skeleton key for a lock but it's very loose and the room could very easily be broken into. The geyser has faulty wiring, so when switched on, you get an electric shock when touching the taps or the water. Which I found out the hard way. The fridge is plugged in, but is not working. The AC did not always work. The bedding had a tear in it. There was just a single top sheet, and no other blankets. The pillow cases did not fit the pillows, so the stains on the pillows were visible. The bathroom was not very clean; the tiles looked as though they had not been wiped down in months. The bathroom door did not close properly. The wood near the doorhandle was cracked, presenting a risk of a sliver or cut. I would not have felt safe there if I were on my own. If we were staying more than a few nights we would have moved somewhere else. Overall, I do not recommend.
