Finca El Tambor

Beautiful, peaceful, and completely in nature. The bungalow was equipped with everything you need, it was spacious, comfortable, and the view was unbelievable. Their restaurant had the most delicious food and to eat with the beautiful scenery was unreal! The staff were so friendly and helpful, and helped us book our day trips.

A perfect stay in a beautiful, comfortable pod type bungalow, in the middle of the Guatemalan highlands. Their restaurant balcony overlooks trees filled with beautiful birds, and in the distance two gorgeous volcanoes. Their restaurant balcony staff were exceptional, always friendly, and helped organise our day trips!

Nothing, it was perfect!

Not cheap but worth every penny. We came for a quiet stay near nature and birds, but were overwhelmed by the view of the volcanos. The food in the restaurant was also great! Staff were all so helpful and kind. Just perfect - did not want to leave.

The property was beautiful with lush jungle around you, the restaurant was fantastic with great drink options. The yoga studio was great and all they offer. I got a massage in your room too I set up last minute and it was fantastic. I was so relaxed.

The place is on a mountain with steep hills it there is nothing the property can do to change that so nothing against them!

Deben avisar que hay que caminar mucho del estacionamiento al bungalow y que no es apta para personas discapacitadas. Y que no incluye pago de estacionamiento

A la llegada teniamos mucho calor por la caminata con el equipaje, a pesar de la buena descripcion del video para llegar, nos perdimos 😬 entonces llegamos buscando aire acondicionado o abanicos y solo encontramos uno muy pequeño el cual usamos y al paso de las horas ya no se ocupo

Very secluded for a nice reset and self-made yoga retreat. This was a beautiful spot to sit for hours, watching birds, the sunset, and the volcano in the mornings, and to simply enjoy life in nature. I enjoyed walking down the hill to the earth lodge for food and coffee, and the Italian restaurant was perfect!

Finca El Tambor has potential, but my experience was mixed and at times unsettling. When I arrived, no staff were on site to greet or assist me. I was the only guest staying there, which made the place feel a bit eerie. A kind housekeeper (who didn’t speak English) saw I needed help and went out of his way to assist. He eventually connected me with someone who spoke English, and that person contacted the owner, who was able to confirm my room. To be fair, the owner had messaged me on Expedia with clear directions, but I hadn’t checked my inbox before arriving. That’s on me however, I still feel that someone should have been present to assist guests in person, especially in a remote and unfamiliar area. The next day, I spoke with the owner, who introduced herself by name and gave me her number. She told me I could contact her anytime I needed anything, and also mentioned that she lives on the property, which was somewhat reassuring. The surrounding area is very local, and while it’s peaceful during the day, there was loud music and fireworks at night. The room was comfortable, but keep in mind there is no TV, no AC, no heat, and the Wi-Fi was spotty due to the rainy weather. Since the security cameras run on Wi-Fi, they were likely non-functional during those outages, which made safety feel questionable at times. If you’re on a honeymoon or just want a quiet escape from the city, this could be a peaceful retreat. For solo travelers wanting total solitude, it might work
