Westdale Cottage, Elton in the Peak District

It was amazing. Really got on with the locals Anthony at the local pub was a super star Def worth visiting him at the Duke Pub only opens at 8.30pm tho

Very spacious and comfortable, everything you needed in the kitchen,bed nice and comfortable.

Hard to find initially, there was no marker to help it stand out, luckily we arrived while it was still light. The shower was disappointing and leaked quite badly.

Good sized cottage. Large bedroom. Shady and cool in the hot weather. Handy location for Chatsworth and Bakewell. Good walks in the area.

I misinterpreted the information about the village. In fact, the pub is closed and there is nowhere that it is practical to walk to for food in an evening. Despite the warnings, I hit my head on the low beam four times. Just hazards of staying in a "character cottage".

Fabulous location in a lovely small village. A comfortable & very well equipped cottage. Nice walks from the cottage door without having to drive anywhere.

Our time to leave came around too quickly! One small thing, it would have been good to know rubbish bin collection day. The bins were very full when we arrived. Anyone with mobility issues may find the steep stairs a challenge.

The house was in a great location. Very comfortable. We were allowed to bring our dog

The cottage was comfortable, clean,& in a lovely location, with beautiful views from the back windows. Everything you could need for a relaxing stay was provided, the kitchen was very well equipped, the bed was very comfy as was the furniture. We had a small problem with a bathroom tap which was promptly rectified by Mike, who was very efficient & easy to contact. Elton is a lovely village surrounded by stunning countryside, & easy driving distance to Bakewell, Matlock & surrounding villages. Although the weather stopped us making use of garden it is enclosed so useful if you have a dog. There is no parking space at the cottage, but we had no problem parking on road outside cottage, on what is a quiet road. We had a very enjoyable week at Westdale cottage, we have been coming to the Peak District for years & this certainly didn’t disappoint.

The only small thing was there was no information about bin collection days in cottage, which would have been useful as recycling bin was full.

nice French doors but unable to use the rear garden due to length of grass and weeds. low beams need to be highlighted more in the description. hit head on three occasions slippery floors on upper level
