I recently stayed at the "Edinburgh Cottage", and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The rooms were in terrible condition—poorly maintained, with outdated furnishings and a general lack of cleanliness. The facilities were equally shocking, with broken amenities and an overall run-down appearance that made the stay quite uncomfortable. Adding to the disappointment was the unexpected requirement to pay a £150 deposit on arrival, which felt excessive given the subpar quality of the accommodation. This, coupled with the state of the place, left a sour taste and a sense of having been taken advantage of. In summary, I cannot recommend this hotel. The rooms and facilities were unacceptable, and the hefty deposit was an unwelcome surprise. There are surely better options in Edinburgh that offer more value for money and a more pleasant stay.

It was across the road from a good takeaway and other shops.

The room was tiny and the bed was two single push together. I paid in full and I still need to give a credit card deposit via an app to get the security code for the lock box to the front door and room. I stood out in the freezing cold and rain waiting.

The staff was very nice and answered very quickly. The house is old but very cosy and has everything you need. The bus stop is very close, and there are two grocery shops nearby.

I have nothing bad to say about my stay there, except for some of the other guests that didn't follow the rules and made a lot of noise late at night. And maybe it would be nice to make the shower a bit better.

Requires update. Don’t expect to much but being one of the lowest cost venues, this is to be expected. No tv in bedrooms.

Everything. View from the bedroom window, all Weed's. Not nice. 2 star if that. There is no hot water in the upstairs bathroom. To many people using the same bathroom, up to half hour wait. No dryer, so you are not able to dry clothes. I put a towel on the piece of rope that they are calling a closeline , when I returned home after the day my towel had disappeared. I contacted them about it as I no longer had a towel to dry myself with and was told that I should be able to find one somewhere. Not executable at all.by the way, the response was not amediate . Within half an hour of being at the property, I asked if we could change our location and was told yes. The next day, I was told that I could not be moved because they needed to pay cleaners. I have no idea what that has to do with me . All in all, it was a very unpleasant stay.
