The rooms are too small, completely different and old from the photos shown, not worth for the money, beds are very uncomfortable giving back pain, heating not working properly, one toilet for all the customers which is also small, not clean enough and had to wait for longer period to go in. Sleep is disturbed because can hear others talking, no privacy protected. Poor customer care they provide false and misleading information which caused difficulties and privacy, comfort, safety all compromised. No one is there to welcome you or give any assistance if needed, no answer to calls either. Have to wait outside wasting your time and money if you can’t open the door because nobody will give you assistance or guidance. I strongly do not recommend this place to anyone, and I suggest this place should be removed from booking.com to avoid future customers facing horrible situations.

I made a booking on the 28th of August for both of my uncles. Both are pensioners. They arrived in Edinburgh, tried to find the guesthouse. Couldn’t find, asked passers by, locals, they had no knowledge of the place. I only found out today, 7th September, because I got a phone call from a lady who met my uncles on the street, looking for directions to the guesthouse. Edinburgh cottage guesthouse. Doesn’t exist. So both of my uncles, both pensioners, both with health issues, have no place to stay tonight. And this after the journey from Ireland to Scotland, from which they won’t return until the 12th. So they’re essentially stranded. So they need accommodation. I’ve paid more than fairly for their accommodation, €450, and they have none. I’m incredibly worried about them. You’re responsible because I’ve booked accommodation for them and it turned out to be a scam

The location was fine - 30mins by bus to the City Centre

trying to get through to the contact number took too long, >15 mins, the message just kept saying you are in position 1 in the queue, this went on for ages.

Advertise it as a hostel....and then everything is fine....and 2 stars max

The Room was spacious, clean and convenient. Closet space can be improved. The Location is super convenient close to shops and right across from the bus stop that takes you to the city centre.

There were no locks in our room which kept us worried for things as there were four other rooms that were occupied at the same time. Another Bathroom would have been nice as there was a single shared bathroom between three rooms.
