Beautiful, 1 Bedroom Cottage

We always love staying here. It is convenient for our needs, well equipped and comfortable. The bath is divine!

People should be aware that the steps into the property (just two) and up to the bedroom and bathroom are quite steep and narrow, and one step is surprisingly deep. Not a problem, but you need to be aware and especially keep a light on at night.

Very cosy, good area with shops close by and very clean.

It was clean in a handy location and the kitchen was excellent. The washing machine was excellent and the courtyard was a good place to dry the laundry. The hot water service was fast and excellent. Great WiFi, I must say.

Getting into the cottage from the street was dangerous when you are over 70 and it wasn't easy retreaving the key from the 'box' set so low down. The absence of designated parking made our stay stressful as we had to search for parking daily. The stairs were so so steep and narrow. We couldn't take our suitcases to the bedroom but had to leave them in the sitting room. The TV only picked up NETFLIX. BUT thank you for that. The TV was very small by today's standards. The bed was so small and uncomfortable. At home we have a king-size bed so the double was disappointing for us. The bed linen was uncomfortable and the lumpy doona was awful! The landing from the bedroom to bathroom was non existent and extremely dangerous. Luckily we are active 77 and 80 year olds but we were constantly in danger of falling when we went from the bedroom to the bathroom.

Reasonably priced, near amenities and on a bus route. The host also let us check in slightly early which we appreciated. Comfy bed and lots of towels provided.

Being a pet friendly property, I think the host was trying to overcompensate for any pet smells by putting in lots of air fresheners and scented candles, which we actually found overpowering and unpleasant. Obviously it’s a personal preference but we didn’t enjoy them and had to open all the windows whenever we were in to air it out. Again relating to pets, there was a poo left on the pebbles in the courtyard. Could be easy to miss at a glance but not very pleasant! There was also a cafetière pictured in the listing but not provided, which was a pain for us as coffee drinkers. We had to go and buy one from a local supermarket as we stayed multiple days and needed our caffeine fix!

Nice little place and well located. No real negative points to speak of, the house is very well equipped, clean and well maintained with a nice little courtyard at the back. Although the house is on quite a busy road, it’s not at all noisy and there was no problem with noise.

Being picky, the front door opens directly onto the pavement which means that passers by walk right past the window.
