Bacon Arms, Newbury

The Bacon Arms is exceptionally located in Newbury and comes complete with a car park if you are travelling by car. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room I had came with high ceilings, heating you could adjust, a view of the rear of the pub, and an ensuite shower bathroom. The room and beds was modest in decoration but clean, and comfortable. Getting access to and from the pub afterhours was straight forward but if you are checking-in early or late be sure to check with the team at The Bacon Arms first. They are responsive by the Booking.com message portal.

Everything in this hotel is as you would want.

Great location in Newbury city centre. Free parking. Good staff. WiFi good. Bed comfortable and bed linen/towels clean. Tea & coffee provided. Easy access. Basic & no frills hotel but suited all my needs and excellent value for money.

The staff were super friendly and helpful.

The room looked tired and a bit dated. There were slight issues with the drains at times as there were occasional times of smelling dirty used water.

The location is perfect - just a short walk to the town. Parking is also free, which is a huge bonus in Newbury - large car park. The staff are lovely, so friendly and helpful. The beer garden is excellent. It's okay for a cheap stay - no frills.

Rooms are very tired and bed was not comfortable. We've stayed a few times as our son lives locally, but this will be our last. I struggled to sleep on this visit.
