I liked that I got to cancel and leave the property without paying any cancellation fees.

Where to start? My experience at 29 Stone Cross House was an absolute nightmare from arrival to my departure three hours later. After a grueling back-and-forth with the owner and Booking.com, I was finally granted a refund for the £115 booking fee but the ordeal didn't end there. Those funds won't be available for 10-12 days, leaving me stranded without immediate resources for alternative accommodation. Furthermore, the property manager is currently withholding my £150 damage deposit, which they forced me to pay before even releasing the check-in details. Despite numerous requests, I am being told they are "waiting for Joe to authorize it." I have yet to receive any confirmation and will now have to involve my bank to recover my money. The Condition of the Property: • Safety & Security: The main entrance door was missing the handle, making it difficult to exit—a massive fire safety hazard and a major security risk. A window was also cracked and broken. • Illegal Substances & Odor: The entire apartment reeked of stale smoke and other substances, likely from a pipe. It was nauseating. • Appalling Hygiene: The bathroom was "disgusting," covered in mold and dirt, featuring used, nearly empty toiletries from previous guests. • Total Disrepair: The walls, floors, and cupboards were filthy. The sofa was broken, chairs were ripped, carpets were torn in multiple places, and there were even exposed electrical sockets with no covers. Final Verdict: DO NOT BOOK. This property bears zero resemblance to the professional photos or descriptions listed. Unless you are looking for a location to smoke illicit substances in a derelict environment, stay far away.
