The Captain's House

A fabulous find in Looe. Very quiet position with it's own parking, which is rare in Looe. The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The bedding was very high quality and there were fabulous toiletries provided . The mattress was a little soft, but that is just personal preference, so not a problem. A mini bottle of prosecco and a couple of chocolates were a welcome surprise. Everything you need for a continental breakfast was provided. Two minutes walk to all the shops and restaurants, although we were a little early in the season so a lot of the eateries weren't open. A river view is a little optimistic, but I would definitely return to this little gem

Excellent location. The room was cosy, with an amazing bed which was also very comfortable. We were in RM 1 and the sofa in the bay window was a lovely touch. The shower was fantastic, with lots of settings. Alison at breakfast was great and nothing was too much trouble and Kathryn was really helpful via text. The location is perfect, a couple of minutes walk by far enough out of the town. Ate at the Globe Inn which was also great and just at the end of the road of the property. I'm looking at dates to book again to come back with friends

We could hear a lot from the other rooms, but I think that was just because the house is older.

Location was excellent, and free parking was above expectations. The room was beautiful, extremely clean and the extra touches were very much appreciated. A small bottle of Prosecco, Chocolates, a bottle of water, and plenty of free tea and coffee were all in the room on arrival. Provision of a safe, ironing board and iron, and a small fridge were unexpected but all came in very handy. The shower was amazing, with several jets. Breakfast (continental) was plentiful and many choices provided. The information book in our room was extremely informative.

Personally, my husband and I found the bed (mattress) to be too hard. That is a personal choice, not so much a complaint. Also, the room, although it contained many extras, didn't leave much room for our suitcase. We weren't made aware that a cooked breakfast could have been requested. The information provided stated there would only be continental breakfasts as it was out of season. Not a complaint at all, as stated there was so much variety in what was provided, we didn't need a cooked breakfast.

Loved the property and our room although we did find the room a little cramped. The staff were excellent and dealt with a couple of problems very quickly. Would recommend to friends.

Although the room was beautifully furnished the sofa and stool made it feel cramped.
