The Captain's House

The welcome tray was a lovely gesture. Thank you. Everything you needed in a room was there ,the bed was comfy, and the room was spotless .at breakfast. There was a lovely selection of food without needing to have an optional cooked breakfast,we enjoyed an amazing informative conversation with our amazing host who made us feel so welcome.

Very clean and great supplies in the room. Especially liked Bower Collective and Prosecco. Bed was really comfortable and having two armchairs and a mini fridge was great

The ensuite was so small, you couldn’t bend down or turn around and the shower was too much for such a small space. Would have liked some instructions on how to use it too.

Beautiful property in a great location. Room was lovely and bed very comfortable. Staff were welcoming, friendly and very accommodating regarding helping us with an early breakfast.

I was honestly blown away by the captains house. i got off the train in looe at 9pm and was expecting the typical charming b&b, but i wasn’t expecting such a lovely space with personal touches most hotels don’t think of anymore like a little bottle of wine in the room, filling a glass bottle with water etc. i was surprised by how recently renovated the bathrooms were— i wasn’t expecting a rain shower?! the staff couldn’t have been more lovely and the self check in was ideal. i don usually take the time to review somewhere i stayed one night but the captains house will win you over

The Staff were exceptional, friendly and chatty, the location is good and parking is free. Rooms are furnished very, well though rooms 3 & 4 a little small for longer stays. comfortable beds and nice continental breakfast. Cooked breakfast £12.50. Looe Harbour is just a short walk away and the local Bar with great food just 2 mins. The Train Station to Liskard is just 3 mins walk away.

I had a stay of five days, and in that time the room was not made up or cleaned, I am aware that this is an eco friendly approach however it would have been nice to be asked or at least have the bin emptied and the bed made at least once in that time. The towels were not replaced and did'nt dry after a shower in the room so we had to dry with wet towels the next day HOWEVER... as soon as we mentioned this to Carl in the morning the towels were replaced immediately. Our car was blocked in one day by other guest cars not a fault of the Cpts.house. but frustrating. All in all these are really minor in the scale of things and should not put you off, book now as you will love this 4 bed B&B. we will be back again

Nothing it was lovely, but maybe have a herbal tea in room as well as coffee and tea.

With a warm welcome and a fantastic location in Looe, this place has it all. Having stayed in many places in the Looe area, over the last 15 years, this has to be the best we have found and will definitely be staying here again. Well equipped, light and spotless room with large towels/bath sheets and really nice powerfull shower with very special gel, shampoo, conditioner and hand wash. Dog friendly including bowel and blankets if needed. A fabulous choice of items on the continental breakfast and a cooked breakfast, at extra cost, should you want it! Parking on site.
