Wold's View Cottage

Everything was provided to ensure our stay was comfortable. Comfortable beds and large ensuites to each bedroom. Plenty of room to socialise in the living room. Large outdoor space and field. Wash room and Honesty Shop.

A very spacious property with plenty of seating and large bedrooms, each with a generous en-suite. The beds were very comfortable, and there were plenty of logs supplied for the hot tub. The surrounding area is stunning, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the gardens and plants were beautifully maintained. There is also a good-sized car park with ample parking.

There was unfortunately a fly infestation during our stay. Although staff had left a note in the physical welcome book, this information wasn’t communicated through the app in the welcome message or key code message. As the property was extremely hot on arrival, we naturally opened the windows and doors, which resulted in a large number of flies entering the property. We ended up spending much of the weekend swatting flies and putting up sticky paper traps to manage them. This also meant we had to keep the windows and doors closed for the rest of the stay, making the property uncomfortably hot inside. Given the price paid, I would have expected air conditioning to be installed, as the mini fans provided were not sufficient. The hot tub itself was enjoyable, but it would have been better if it had been pre-heated before arrival. Additionally, the travel cot provided for my 10-month-old nephew had a broken mattress, which collapsed around 4am one morning and caused a lot of upset and tears.

It’s huge, light, airy, comfortable furniture, excellent hot tub with easy to understand instructions! Immaculately clean, comfortable beds, great quality bedding and towels! Loads of hot water. The owners responded very quickly to any questions.

A mop for the floor to dry up after wet feet from hot tub and a battery hoover would be great so we could keep on top of day to day crumbs. Heat proof glove for hot tub fire door would be handy.

Great location, good facilities in the cottage, good amount of seating for a family (we have found this an issue in lots of places) would definitely come back and recommend.

Nothing. I think it would have benefitted from extra fencing or wire on the low wall to stop dogs jumping over into the field and so they could be off lead in the courtyard but this is personal preference and I know this would disrupt the view. Overall excellent stay.

The property had everything you could think of that you would need for a lovely, relaxing getaway. It is a beautiful, clean property that is clearly very well maintained, both inside the property and in the landscaped grounds. There was a small general store with essentials for sale and books/games/toys for the kids, BBQs to use plus a laundry if you needed it. The hot tub was really easy to use and it was great to sit out in the evening looking at the stars in a fantastic peaceful location. The owners were very quick to respond to all questions that I've had, both before and during our stay.

The curtains in our bedroom were lightweight so we awoke very early in the morning. The security lights around the courtyard of the property meant that our bedroom stayed very light at night too. This is the only thing I would change.

Nothing we didn't like, the only tiny thing that we might have changed was if the water in the hot tub could have been pre heated, even a little bit, earlier in the day. Just as it took about 7 hours to get up to temperature. But it wasn't a problem at all.

This property certainly has the wow factor. It is beautiful and spacious and finished to a high standard. The cottage was comfortable, warm and had everything you needed including kitchen essentials. It was really clean and tidy. It even had a lovely touch of a Christmas tree for our stay in December. It’s situated in a small courtyard with other cottages and it is really picturesque and quiet. The back of the cottage was onto an open field and the children looked going to search for deers and managed to see some. The beds were comfortable and a great size. I would definitely recommend this cottage to others and would love to come and stay again.
