Casa Cacheu Bissau Homestay

It's cheap compared to the other options, it was clean and had AC. I wasn't aware it was a Homestay though, and when I left my room I was basically standing directly in the living room of the family, so privacy wasn't great. There was no interaction with the family and no-one even said hello when they saw me. They have kids so it was noisy at times. The bathroom was cleaned daily but sometimes there was no soap and no toilet paper. I didn't use the garden as the family made use of the available space themselves, also they burned trash right in front of the house which resulted in an awful smell everywhere.

Location excellent. Right beside Presidential Palace, in area being regenerated, easy walking distance to banks, shops, fort, ferry port. Nico the owner is a very helpful and friendly man. He understands his customers and is flexible with timescales and information.

I stayed at Casa Cacheu during the Carnival in Bissau. I liked everything about this accomodation: the location is very convenient, close to Praca, yet quiet and relaxing. The host Nico is very friendly. The AC worked perfectly, the mosquito net was new. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The garden area with hammocks is very pleasant. Overall good value for money, I highly recommend!

Hot shower would be great, but you don't really need it in this hot climate. Wifi does not reach all rooms but it wasn't a problem since I used local simcard.

Cute little place within walking distance of many places, wifi worked well and shower had hot water.

Even though it says the property accepts credit cards they DO NOT. Make sure you have local CFAs with you or you will have to go exchange money.

This is a great place to crash in Bissau. Niko is the best host and always there to help. Keep in mind that the property does not have a sign, just shout out at the gate if you don't see anyone around.
