Spacious Bedroom in a Brooklyn House Shared with Host

Very comfortable stay in a wonderfully diverse NYC Brooklyn neighborhood with a very gracious host.

My timing coincided with a huge local event that created a lot of noise and congestion, even by NYC standards. I’d love to explore the neighborhood again when it’s in its day to day vibe.

This was a great block in the middle of a really busy area. The host was very kind, he showed me around the home and where everything was located before showing me to my room, which is really spacious. There is a table, a little sitting bench, a super comfy bed, a dresser, and side tables. There is an extension cord that makes plugging in my device easy (bring a box for your charger), and everything felt very well-kept and clean. The one thing that was missing was a TV, but I had gotten in late and had to leave early, so I didn't miss it. There is an air conditioner that kept me very comfortable (I have hot flashes and get HOT!). The bathroom was right next door to my room, making it convenient. They even stocked the mini fridge in the room with two cups and cold water - a nice touch. Only took 5 minutes to find convenient off-street parking. Would definitely stay again.

Original Brooklyn Terrace close to the high street and the subway. Plenty of cafe's for breakfast and the restaurants near the station are a lot of fun. Sitting at a table on the footpath watching all of humanity file past on their way home in Brooklyn. Put a couple of beers in the fridge for the best backyard garden to sit in. Walk across Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Heights, the ferry from Brooklyn, DUMBO. Wonderful

The subway to Manhatten and Prospect Park (great place for jogging) are just right around the corner. There are also some nice cafes and bars for breakfast/dinner. Also easy to access and quite near are Coney Island and Green-Wood Cemetery. Last but not least very nice hosts. Perfect place to stay for our five days in NYC.

We couldn't make it to the barbeque Bill and Oates invited us to. 😉

The house was a well proportioned, beautifully curated decor in an historic neighbourhood of Brooklyn we were familiar with. The hosts truly made us feel at home, even with shared facilities, we did not feel any intrusion on space or limitations on movement.
