"Good stay and the host was super nice and accommodating."

8.0

Location was awesome. The recommendations for restaurants and things to do and where to park etc was most helpful.

The location.

"Great location and nice little place to stay, but a few issues let it down."

6.0

Fantastic location, right in the heart of town with restaurants, cafes and shops on your doorstep. Communication from hosts was excellent.

Lacking a little attention to detail, such as not enough towels or crockery. The ceiling was not soundproof, although they had friends staying while we were there so might not be an issue for others. The main issue was with the shower, but the hosts were very good with communication trying to get it sorted.

"I will be back I had a lovely time."

9.0

Elegant, self contained and so central. Fab powerful shower. Extremely friendly hosts, not intrusive at all but a mine of information about where to eat, where to go etc

No windows , was very hot( 32 degrees outside) . Asked if there was a fan and one was provided very promptly

"Stylish room, nice bathroom, good location"

9.0

The old stone and beams, offset by gold handles and lighting. It’s a pleasant and relaxing space. The bathroom. Enough surface for make up and toiletries. Loved the mirror with de steam button and 2 light settings. Comfy bed. Loads of soft pillows. Location next to a beautiful old church. My dog loved the old graveyard. The mini bottle of Prosecco and chocolate biscuits made me feel welcome. And fresh milk. Lots of coffee pods. Loads of plug sockets where you need them. usb ports for charging gadgets. Dog friendly.

Like others have said, the mini kitchen with broken tap doesn’t shout ‘luxury’ but was functional. Outweighed by the many positives.

"A charming spot at a glance, but let down by overlooked details/make-do approach."

7.0

Very informative email sent by owners on booking with lots of recommendations and tips. Brilliant location - 5 minutes from the bus stop into Bath, minutes from nice cafes and cute streets. Nice and quiet in the studio despite it being the weekend of the big (and amazing) monthly market. Nice touch providing a pint of milk, yummy biscuits and a little bottle of fizz :) Super comfy bed. Good, strong shower.

The accommodation didn’t quite live up to expectations. While it has a cosy charm, several details, or lack of attention to, let it down. A few nice lamps just don't make it 'luxury', I'm afraid. Especially when you mount a full-size hoover right next to the main one. We were mostly out and about but when back in and recharging our energy, started to notice things like two lots of gaffer tape on the curtain rail, dusty bedroom cupboards with water stains, several long dark hairs on the shower wall, patchy and grubby paintwork. Privacy is lacking unless you draw the curtain across the door but then you're blocking the only natural light...and the views. Only one coffee pod per person per day is provided (extra at a charge seems a bit harsh), the tiny kitchenette tap was loose and felt like an afterthought. Whilst the “romantic” lighting does provide a nice ambience, relying on just that was impractical and there are a confusing amount of switches. When we turned on the TV, it displayed a slideshow of someone else’s family photos—possibly a previous guest's login? They'd also been watching Emanuelle 5, evidently. The immediate exterior approach and courtyard were littered, setting a poor first impression. While this may be out of the host’s control to an extent, it could be addressed with a bit more care. If I was charging luxury rates and only lived above, I'd be out there clearing it daily. There's also noticeable insulation film on the big glass front door. Other reviews mention similar issues, suggesting they're ongoing. It's a shame, as the place could be lovely with better maintenance and attention to detail. I felt like asking for a reduction but didn't want to taint our wonderful weekend in Frome. If you’re after rustic charm and can overlook the flaws, it might work for you. But if you expect a well-maintained space, consider other options.

"Great location could be improved"

7.0

Communication was good prior to our stay, and we were given many local recommendations. The location was excellent, right in the centre of town and opposite the church. The bed was super comfy. The bathroom was nice, and the shower was powerful. It was nice to receive a mini bottle of Prosecco and biscuits.

The entrance courtyard was tatty, litter strewn and unkempt plants - a bit off-putting to be honest. There were cars parked right in front of the courtyard, so if you did want to sit out, you're basically looking at a car.. A tidy and a small screen/trellis would benefit the courtyard area. As seasoned weekenders, we felt that it was quite expensive for essentially a hotel room. There were only 2 coffee pods for 2 people for 2 nights and a 50pence each charge if you wanted more, so we bought our own! Whilst we appreciated the biscuits and mini bottle of Prosecco, I think the coffee supplies could be improved at no great cost. The information sheet was battered and stained and lots of out of date literature. The room was dusty, my jacket fell on the floor, and it was covered in dust and I found some broken glass under the bed. A shame, as it could be a really lovely apartment with a little extra love and attention to detail at that price.
