Riad Lumières du Sud

I loved the location. It's down some little alleys, but as a solo woman I felt safe. Its in a great part of the Medina I enjoyed walking up and down even just the main street there. The Riad itself is gorgeous, quirky and clean. I extended my stay by 2 more nights and stayed in 2 different rooms and loved them both. It has character, it's cosy. It's good value, and Momo is a wonderful and hard working caretaker to the Riad. The terrace is lovely. I think anyone with complaints about this place clearly had insane expectations and doesn't travel very much. This was a peaceful retreat, and a pleasure to stay. I definitely recommend it and if I return this will be where I look to first. Yes the walls are thin, but it was quiet anyway. I LOVED IT.

The location is in the center of the city, not easy to find and only accessible on foot. The first impression was not the best, but it turned out that Riad is clean, well-maintained, traditional breakfast served at the chosen time and the staff is very helpfull and always available for any question (so does the host, even if he is not always at the location)

A minor renovation of the bathrooms, which are otherwise clean, would be welcome.

It was very authentic and pretty in a good location and had a nice terrace Very quiet area

The owner before we arrived was sending many messages asking what time we will arrive and kept telling me about charging 10€ if we arrive after 22PM his tone was not kind or welcoming. I said we are just around the corner we just finish our meal and we go and he said it’s not acceptable and everyone is waiting for us only and we must tell him the time of arrival. The room wasn’t ready we had to wait for over 20 min until the staff cleaned it for us we were coming form a long trip and were super exhausted. Also one day the owner was shouting for ages at someone in French complaining about a client and he was very loud we had an nap and we woke up and it was very agressive Also the riad is not on the Google maps and it’s hard to find no sign on the door we had to ask a guy from another riad to help Also curtain only at the toilet

The property has a unique traditional design and full of small details that brings great vibe to the rest

The bathroom is not separated with any type of door - so me or my girlfriend had to leave the apartments during other visiting the toilet. It's a bit of discomfort that we experienced.

Great location, incredibly close to the markets and excellent staff.

WiFi would flicker in and out when in my room but was good strength when in the courtyard.

Location is amazing, Marc is a fantastic host and the rooms are great. Good hot water and air con. Would definitely recommend…really good value for money :)

The host is friendly and kind - he spent time with me and provided me with plenty of suggestions and recommendations. I really felt at home. I warmly recommend this riad if you are planning to stay in Marrakech
