The Lodge, Monkstown

Grande chambre et belle salle de bain. Place de parking. Dans l'ensemble c'était propre sauf les velux.

Dommage qu'il y ait pas mal de toiles d'araignée au niveau du velux. La chambre est grande mais il est vraiment dommage justement qu'il n'y ait pas de petit frigo et un porte bagage. Le propriétaire nous a juste remis les clés et basta ! Sinon il faisait très chaud dans la chambre à l'étage et impossible de ventiler dans la journée ou la nuit s'il pleut.

No sound proof. Bathroom access through the hallway. No blinds in the bathroom. Tenant running the dryer till midnight, running up/ down the creaky stairs, huge palm plant in the shower area, inadequate furniture!!! random heating& hot water; very slow , interrupting wifi. Addition after the response: Blame the guests: The running of the appliance and the tenant running up and down the stairs until midnight was not a dream, but a nightmare. After my complaints, this annoying noise vanished for the next two nights. And the WiFi was useless. Yes, I was stupid enough and misinterpreted the private bathroom to be remote. However, what disturbed the privacy was the missing blinds. Please note for future advertising, that the room is suitable only for one person. There is only one nightstand, one waggling chair and one rotten chair in the backyard called “garden furniture”. Also avoid to call it a quiet, relaxing place; its very misleading. The surrounding is peaceful, the lodge unfortunately not. Seaview is strange too; it is still the River Lee in Monkstown.

For what you pay, it’s not worth it. No utensils or anything in the room for what you pay. Only soap no conditioner or shampoo. The room was really warm without the heating on. As soon as I arrived the owner demanded to pay more money for my partner to stay which I didn’t realise I had to pay extra for. The location was also far away from everything. Not worth the money spent.

I was such a comfortable room in a beautiful area of Cork. Blaithin was a lovely host and made my checking in very easy. I’ll definitely be back as I visit Cork several times a year on business. Thanks again for a lovely stay.
