The Lodge, Monkstown

La vue sur les champs est agréable. Le logement est situé au calme. La décoration est sobre mais jolie. La chambre était très propre (mais c’est dommage de m’avoir donné une serviette tachée de javel).

L’isolement phonique est terrible : j’entendais à chaque fois que quelqu’un parlait ou rigolait dans la chambre à côté, ainsi qu’à chaque fois qu’une porte était ouverte. C’est dommage qu’il y ait si peu d’intimité. Il y a eu une coupure d’eau et d’électricité sur toute une journée. Cela n’est pas la faute des propriétaires, mais ça aurait été bien d’être prévenue à l’avance.

Nice room, lovely location on top of the hill looking down into Cork harbour, easy access by the local ferry to Cobh.

Take note of the advice for finding the property location, it is easy to get misdirected. You need to be right up on top of the hill with Cork harbour way below.

Beautifully presented and decorated room with a comfortable bed and good shower. Regular and cheap bus into Cork Central and loved the ferry and walk over to Cobh. A really lovely place to stay.

Accommodation was great . We're not informed that to use toilet you had to pass through communal area.

The fact that the property was up a very steep hill. Looked into booking again, and seen a mention of the hill. Advising people coming on public transport they may need a car to reach property. The fact you had to cross a common area to bathroom, this alone would have stopped us booking property,but the hill would be a definite NO. Should have been clearly stated that the property was not. SUITABLE FOR ELDERLY OR INFIRM. Would stop a lot of people from booking..

Wonderful hostess and host. Not only was the location spectacular and peaceful with a charming nearby town, we were only 15 minutes from Cork.
