The location was lovely and quiet, the accommodation was comfortable, clean and exquisitely decorated. Would highly recommended. James was a great host.

Wonderful location - walking distance to Durham centre but very quiet rural feel. James was the perfect host and the quality of the accomodation is very high - well built and the decor and fittings were excellent - I'd wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone considering a stay in Durham.

Excellent service from James and lovely accommodation in a great location

What we loved most about the property was how effortlessly it combines luxury with its natural surroundings. The lodge itself is beautifully designed, ultra-modern and finished to a really high spec but still feels homely, warm and relaxing. The bed was unbelievably comfortable (honestly better than our own at home!), which made it so easy to fully switch off and enjoy a proper rest. The rainfall shower was another highlight. Not only spacious, powerful, and perfect after a long day. And I loved the floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors. They flood the lodge with natural light and frame the surrounding farmland perfectly. Whether you’re inside daydreaming with a cup of tea or outside on the balcony listening to the birds, it’s incredibly peaceful and just a beautiful place to unwind. What truly sets this place apart, is James who is genuinely passionate about creating not only a place to stay but an experience for his guests. Prior to the stay he introduced himself via messaging and throughout our stay casually checked in with us too. We will 100% be back this year and forever more and look forward to seeing his vision develop and grow.

James is a wonderful host who is great at making sure guests have everything they need. The accomodation is lovely, modern and spacious. It is also a great pet friendly stay as it’s on a peaceful field surrounded by countryside. You can walk into Durham along the river which was really lovely and gave us some great views of the town. We would love to come back one day for sure
