ANANSA BOUTIQUE HOTEL by The Kannur Club

We had a longer stay of 18 days. During that time our shower continuously got blocked, breakfast was sub par with one of the staff members constantly yelling out to other staff, and even witnessing and having to walk past sewage being cleaned out.

The location is amazing with views to the ocean and the beach at your doorstep. The hotel is modern, rooms are spacious and clean, the interior design is contemporary stylish, I was lucky to stay in the front glass room (the windows did need to cleaned). The hotel itself resembles a large house design. The swimming pool was great to have as you can't swim in the ocean. There is a large garden area, which was lovely to dine at to dine at in the evening, would be lovely for small events (maybe not for the hotel guests as it would be loud) The restaurant manager was the only person who was kind and had knowledge of how to run a hospitality business.

The front of house staff were the worst I have experienced. I had sent a message to let them know my arrival time (as I was travelling by train) on my arrival to check in at reception I thought I had walked into a frat house as group of young teenagers were loudly playing pool, the receptionist was incompetent, instead of checking me in, she was too busy charging the mobile phones of the teenagers. The process was taking far too long, I was to wait in the restaurant while lunch was served. Check in took over 1 hour... they ended upgrading my room to the corner glass window overlooking the ocean, it was disappointing there was no balcony for this room. The breakfast buffet had limited choices of western food options and I was served an undercooked omelette. The inside section of the restaurant is light, spacious with modern design, the food was not great, I ordered a pasta dish that was laced with chilli (which no chilli was suppose to be present) it was so spicy that I had to return it. The pool area only has 2 sun beds and good luck getting the Reception staff to find you a beach towel... Check out was also a nightmare, this took 20 minutes.

room wasn't clean and bed sheets stained (despite changing 3 times), breakfast was mediocre, very hard to get an auto from here- they don't come down to the beach front. Can't use Amex to pay

Room was exactly as described and the Location is excellent. Staff was extremely friendly.overall we had a good family time would surely visit again when in Kannur

Good view, food

No response to requests even through booking.com and no one was answering the calls made to the hotel. Disappointed

We had corner rm (108) with an unimpeded view of the garden, beach, and sea, and a good powerful shower with plenty of hot water - one of the best we've had on our travels! As others have said, the restaurant was excellent with a diverse choice of breakfast options, room service, and delicious evening meals. Staff were amazing; always friendly, polite, and eager to help, especially Restaurant Mgr, Arun, Nagma, who served us most days, and Anisia on Reception. As guests, we were honoured to be invited to the New Year's Eve Party, a main event in the Club's calendar and an experience we thoroughly enjoyed. The garden was beautifully decorated for the occasion and looked magical. Thanks to all for a wonderful stay!

Large glass panel above door allowed light to shine in from corridor at night making rm too light; pillows were a bit too firm; other guests allowing their doors to bang shut instead of closing them gently!
