Charming 2 bedroom property

Close to town centre but very quiet. beautiful character and cosy little house. Everything in there you need.

Couple of nails sticking up from floor boards, my wife stood on one, could be dangerous. Understand property is very old.

A fuller description of the kitchen equipment would be useful, plus a note to say the wood burner was not to be used by guests. Just for clarity. I was concerned about access to the property. My instructions only came a couple of hours before check-in, despite asking what the arrangements would be 3 times in the days before arriving. The host could easily say that there is a lock box and that the code would be provided on the day. I was left feeling anxious!

The location of this property is perfect - easy walking to both our family's home and the best of Bury. The street is quiet. The historic charm of the property is lovely. The kitchen is well equipped.

1) The heating is insufficient. For most of our visit, the overnight temperatures dipped just below freezing. Despite having the thermostat set to a reasonable sleeping temperature (18 C), the morning temperature dropped closer to 14 C in the home. We had to borrow a small heater from our local family to keep the children's room warm. 2) The upstairs plumbing really needs some attention. The shower blocked on our second day and caused quite a mess. Otherwise, the shower spills a lot of water and is very difficult to keep the bathroom dry and clean. 3) The soft furnishings (rugs, pillows, throws, etc) require replacing. They are not clean. For a property advertised as upscale, these items should be fresh and clean to make the property more welcoming and comfortable.
