Al Salam Desert Camp Bidiya

The positioning in the desert was nice for reaching with a non 4x4 car. It’s nearly quiet there. I bit light pollution there so pictures aren’t great.

The prices for the stay and the tours where way too high. The staff is a bit too obstructive at the dinner and breakfast. The breakfast was also not that nice.

Really cool camp with lovely social area with live music in the evening and great dinner.

Trips were extortionately overpriced. Especially the Bedouin trip. We paid £90 and spent over an hour of the two hour trip in the car. All we did at the Bedouin village was have a cup of coffee and asked to buy more things they’d made. We had a good time playing with the kids in the sand dunes but there were dunes closer to camp that wouldn’t cost £90 to play in!

We had a super great time and it was such a special experience to sleep in your camp. All the crew members were very kind and helpfull. Also the camp on itself was beautiful and clean! We want to give an extra compliment to the cook, because the traditional food was very good. By far the best we had on our holiday in Oman. A surplus for us was that we could reach the camp by a normal car (so not a 4x4). Further we did a lot of activities as a camel ride, a sunset quad tour and last but not least we tried the sand board. There, Mana surprised us by dunebashing with the 4x4. All the three activities were great and the whole crew has a special place in our heart! The unique experience was amazing. It is above expectation, especially when you see the other camps around. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was amazing and plenty of options included. The activities are great - highly recommend the quad bike sunset. For any transport, touring or safari options - Mana is a great driver and guide ✨

It is restricted for non included food - lunch and snacks, it’s ok but be prepared by taking your own snacks. Ensure you take cash for activities and the village tours.

Just book this one. Price was great, location was great, space was beautiful, plenty of good food options. Staff was awesome. Its not a resort, but its also not a tent on the side of the highway. Thats exactly what we wanted. Climb the huge sand hill and disappear. Last 2km of road are a bit soft sand but most competent drivers could make it. Just book it now.

If you need a ride to the resort from the road the price is too steep. Its 2km. The camel ride is great but a guy just walks the camel to where you’re going. I felt bad. Give the guide a camel to ride. Maybe theres a reason here but I felt so bad about it.

This place was stunning, much better than we expected. Easily reachable by car. We saw a magical sunset and the camp was beautifully lit at night. The dinner was very generous and delicious.

We had the most excellent stay in the desert camp. The location is great not too far from the road but you are in the middle of the desert. The tents were good with all the facilities that you needed. Staff were incredibly attentive very accommodating and we loved all the activities that we arranged, Sand boarding, Dune bashing , quad biking and desert campfire
