Ashton Hall at Lancaster Golf Club

Breakfast was good as was the waitress Trinity. The dining room was very elegant, unlike the rest of the hotel. Bedclothes and towels were very clean. Room was warm

The rooms were very bad. Curtains ripped and hanging off the fittings. Very ageing bathroom with a toilet which made horrendous noises waking next door. Shower head would not stay in its holder. Daughters had no towels and despite asking for some they did not arrive. Very cold and dark in most of hotel and when arriving at 5:30 was told kitchen might be able to rustle up some food and bar was shutting at 6pm. Damp and mould on ceiling. It was like a Gothic horror.

Very few staff nowhere to be found. We were shown in to our room but it wasn't tidied/cleaned after previous tenants. Room was very, very cold. Bathroom was even more cold. A beautiful building let down by the absolute basics. Extremely disappointed by thus stay, would never return and would never recommend. I was literally robbed of £120.

Very quiet. Handy location for university. Atmospheric historic building and beautiful setting. Very good breakfast. Wonderful staff.

We visited on one of the coldest nights in January. Our room hadn’t been prepared or heated so we were given a larger room in the oldest part of the castle. This room also took a while to heat up. The bathroom was very cold. The decor was partially finished (bare wood door frame) and a bit sparse.

The rooms were big , nice high ceilings , had a snooker table and darts which guests had full use of. The grounds were lovely and staff all very helpful and nice

The room was really cold , especially the bathroom. The bathroom was very outdated and when you put the light on or flushed the toilet there was a noise straight away that most likely waking up the neighbours as well as anyone else in your room

The building and the grounds were lovely.

Being the only guests at the venue that evening,we felt like a inconvenience. We expected there would be more people staying over.but down stairs was closed by 10 o'clock that evening,so leaving us only one place to go which was to our room,which has you know has no tv.not ideal on a Friday night leading up to xmas when we were on holiday.

A lovely setting and a wonderful building with lots of interesting features. The staff were welcoming and very helpful.

Beautiful place and very relaxing ambience. The golf course was lovely. It gave us a very relaxing view as we ate breakfast.

No TV in our room!

Warm welcome by staff, lovely log fire in the lounge, the whole place heated by large radiators.

Bedroom allocated, roomy with king bed, but décor and furnishings minimal. The rather cramped dismal WC/shower was it's greatest letdown. We were fortunate that as the only guests that night we were able to use next door's bathroom, with bathtub.
