"Will stay again"

It was a 20min bus ride from Port Authority (multi storey). Rooftop view as shown and each room has their own lock and keys. Extra points on the snacks provided. Also able to do your own laundry and cooking. A comfortable stay. Jimmy was responsive via WhatsApp.

The space was generally well-kept, but the floors may not be thoroughly vacuumed before our arrival, as they felt a bit crumbly underfoot. The blinds are a little thin to fully block out the bright street lighting. Just something to keep in mind for future guests who might be light sleepers

La proximité avec le bus reliant Manhattan (2 minutes à pieds) et le trajet qui se fait rapidement. Le Rooftop est incroyable! Appartement partagé avec deux autres couples, très respectueux, rapport qualité prix imbattable.

Die Terrasse war untertrieben. Es handelt sich um eine Dachterrasse mit dem allerbesten Blick auf die Skyline New Yorks.

Die Beschreibung war sehr schlecht. Es ist kein Appartement sondern ein Zimmer in einem Appartement mit Gemeinschaftsküche. Es gibt noch 2 weitere Zimmer, die dann anderweitig vermietet sind. Zumindest hatte das Zimmer ein eigenes Bad. In der Küche gab es nur Geschirr für 4 Leute. 2-Bettzimmer mit einem 160er Bett? Schlafcouch war übertrieben. Tisch und Stühle waren Gartenklappstühle und -tisch. Fenster undicht, bei Minusgraden nicht schön. Rückfragen an Vermieter wurden nicht beantwortet. Nur die Lage und die Dachterrasse haben uns da zufrieden gestellt.

The apartment itself was nice. You can be in Manhattan in ~40minutes by bus.

The woman who handled the cleaning was very kind and welcoming — it was truly a pleasure. However, the man reachable at the reservation phone number was extremely unpleasant and at times borderline disrespectful. The communication with guests definitely needs to be improved. A final small remark: the windows are single-glazed, so you can hear all the street noise. For light sleepers, earplugs are recommended.

"Very nice, would stay again."

The location and cleanliness of the apartment were AMAZING. Not even a block away from the 123 bus to NYC. The rooms were very well decorated and I felt comfortable the entire time.

The owner was a bit hard to communicate with.

"Trust turned into a painful lesson in misleading listings and zero customer protection"

Ironically, what I liked most was the idea of renting a “Cozy Apartment with City Skyline Rooftop” for four nights. Unfortunately, it remained only an idea. The experience was misleading and deceptive. Instead of an APARTMENT, as the title and photos clearly suggested, it turned out to be just a single room inside an apartment. I arrived in New Jersey from Miami with my family, and right before check-in I received a message from the host saying “your room is ready.” I was confused, and when I called to clarify, I realized I had paid $600 not for an apartment, but for a bedroom with a private bathroom. This was never made clear on the listing. Only after paying, in the confirmation details written in small print, was the truth revealed. While the property may have good reviews and the location may indeed be excellent (which is why I chose it), I feel completely deceived by the lack of transparency. This forced me to rent another place for $700 so my family would not have to share common spaces with strangers. I also believed Booking.com was a trustworthy platform that protected its customers and verified listings to ensure accuracy. Sadly, that was also an illusion. Although the first two customer service agents were polite and empathetic, after six days of calls and emails, the supervisor, Fernando, simply told me it was not Booking.com’s problem and that I should contact the host. Meanwhile, the host insists it is Booking.com’s responsibility. So here I am—having paid for a stay I never used, having paid again for another accommodation, and stuck between a host and a platform that both refuse to take responsibility. I am requesting a full or partial refund of the $600 for a misleading listing that did not match what was advertised.

What I didn’t like was the feeling of being misled. I arrived in New Jersey with my family, believing I had booked a full apartment where we could stay comfortably together. Instead, right before check-in, I found out it was only a room inside someone else’s apartment—something never made clear until after I had paid. I didn’t like the stress of standing there with my family, realizing we suddenly had nowhere to stay, and having to scramble to find another place for $700. And I truly didn’t like spending six days being passed back and forth between the host and Booking.com, with no one taking responsibility. The whole situation left me feeling frustrated, disappointed, and unprotected as a customer.

The location was lovely.

The apartment reeked of cigarettes most mornings. We did not feel comfortable leaving our room for the duration of our stay. The "skyline view" from the apartment was from the roof, not the rooms, which we found to be misleading. There were limited amenities for our use, and the garbage was overflowing for the duration of our visit.
