Puerto Morelos Hotel Las Palmas - Near the beach

Room has no blackout slides, so you will sleep with light at night. The zone is very noisy, you'll hear dogs barking, people chatting and music until late night. Too expensive for the type of place

it was clean and beautiful

two things: 1) if you are in a balcony room and it’s windy, expect it to be loud. there is no weather stripping on the door so it whistles in the wind. 2) When we arrived, there was food in the fridge for the last guests. I didn’t mind, I just planned to throw it in a garbage outside the room. We left to go get groceries and when we returned, the food was gone. but only the left over food, nothing of ours we had put in was touched. I was weirded out by it and started to think, maybe the people that stayed in the room are still on the property. Later that day, someone tried to enter our room. the doors are coded and he knew the code. the only good thing was that we had our deadbolt in place. It was clear then that the last guests of the room were still on the property and entered our room while we were out. what a violation of our privacy. we immediately asked for a code change for our door as well as my family’s door who was staying in a separate room. this is nothing against the staff. they were lovely and when we explained what happened, they immediately agreed to change the code. I just can’t imagine ever walking into someone’s room and getting your left over food when they are out. how rude and violating.

The room was okay, butthe location is absolutely horrible.

The location

that it had a shared kitchen. the smart tv was handy that I was able to temporarily login to my Netflix. they kindly replaced the batteries on our self locking door. the lady that managed the place was very efficient. because of the language barrier. it was handy that I was able to write what we needed help with and they kindly replaced the kettle’s base, so my boyfriend could have his tea, and fill up his thermos to have more later on. I liked that it had a mosquito net on the window in our room but none in the shower room.

it needs more hooks to hangs things as it’s a beach area, people needed them for hanging towels and swimwear etc. we improvised and removed hanging things and used those hooks on the wall. the place was mopped once while we were there for four nights but even though my stuff at stopped dripping the wet patch wasn’t mopped up so I had to wear filp flops so I wouldn’t get into bed with my feet all wet. I don’t understand why it wasn’t mopped. I don’t like being wasteful and using tissues and there was no cloth to dry it. it was annoying that area was not mopped up. it wasn’t there fault that there was blaring music for the three nights of the four because of the festival but it was a shame it wasn’t petitioned against it being in that location near where people lived. It was also not right that the blaring music could carry on till just before 4am.

Our stay at Las Palmas was great! The room was quite big and super super clean and the place is so cutely decorated with loads of plants. Rooftop patio is also a bonus and you can watch the sunset from up there. You can walk to loads of restaurants in the area and the beach is about a 15 min bike ride. You can rent bikes at the place too which is handy. It’s definitely cheaper staying in this area compared to the beachfront and you most definitely get a more local feel.

Can sometimes be a bit loud at night with dinner parties and music but this tends to end early anyways around 10pm and it didn’t happen every night.
