The corridor to get to the riad was filthy and smelled like cats and dogs’ poop. The smell carried into the riad. The inside appeared clean however one bathroom was dark and old and didn’t look clean. We looked at the place and left to go to a hotel. Walking down the corridor put a damper on the beginning of my vacation.

This Riad is an exquisite property very near the ferry port up on the wall overlooking the Straight of Gibraltar. The interior is exquisite, each room is presented beautifully. You feel very privileged living in this space. The outer area includes a large spacious balcony with a large dining table, a barbecue and an upstairs area with some chairs and a swing. Beautiful. The linens and towels were of high-quality, and the beds were comfortable. Ahmed, the manager, was very helpful and communicated with our driver to find a drop off point when we arrived in Tangiers. But beware- they cannot drive up to the Riad,and it was over 100 stairs up a very steep hill. Achmed helped carry some stuff up. but maybe a second person to help would have been a good idea. We were two couples, and one couple elderly. We didn’t know or we would’ve arranged it . So physically that was hard. The ladies who serve breakfast were as sweet as could be, and we communicated with a translator, so no problem. When it was time to leave the next day, Akhmed arranged for people to carry our luggage and purchases to the ferry terminal. That was a big help and much appreciated. Our breakfast outside on the balcony was a real high point. The rest of our journey, we stayed in guest houses, which were all very nice. But it was so nice to end our visit with on a luxurious note in the beautiful Riad. Highly recommended.

We had a few minor issues. When we arrived at check-in time, the prior tenants were still there doing a photo shoot in the living room. They didn’t leave for almost an hour. This was really quite irritating. We ordered breakfast to be served, and it was really very delicious. Two ladies came in early to prepare the food and they served us on the balcony where we wanted to be served. The price at seven euros per person is OK but they charge extra for orange juice and when we wanted a 2nd cup of coffee, they charged us for a second pot . It wasn’t very much money. It’s just the principle of the thing - it seemed petty. Another irritation was the fact that the bottom sheets on the bed were not in fact on the bed, but on top of the bed, ironed and folded, waiting to be made. As our bed was in an alcove. It was physically difficult for me to get the sheet onto the bed. I was quite exhausted after having carried my suitcase up the long hill from the port. They should make the beds completely!

Ahmed met us as we got off the ferry and was delightful.

The Riad is stunning as well as comfortable. Amazing views over the ocean to Spain and lots of beautiful spaces to gather as well as relax. Location was excellent being on the edge of the Madina. Hosts were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend.

Second bathroom is very small but shower was hot and pretty strong so all good.

The location was central. The view was amazing, specially during sunsets. The room decor was beautiful and artistic. The host was extremely helpful with lots of suggestions for local restaurants. The place felt like a palace. It was very spacious.

There were several floors in the property. The kitchen was not on the same level as the main floor. This could be a problem for someone not comfortable climbing flights of stairs.

The property had amazing views, very clean and well kept, had the best breeze and was walking distance from many restaurants and shops in the Medina! The host was very helpful and kind. We had zero issues and would recommend this riad to everyone planning to stay in Tangier!

Strategically located in the old town. close to restaurants, stores and the main attractions. The house was beautifully decorated with an exceptional rooftop. The co-host Ahmed was so accommodating and attentive. He arranged for all our transportation needs and went above and beyond our expectation. The ladies Khadiha and Nada were always ready to help with a smile. Khadija is an amazing person. We felt fortunate to meet such wonderful staff😊👌🏻
