The School House, Ironbridge

Underfloor heating was superb. Extras provided in the for of a hamper including gifts. Lovely decorated Christmas tree.

Quirky conversion of an historic property. A wonderful find when we were just looking for a hotel to spend a couple of nights in Ironbridge. Great fun to have a whole cottage to ourselves, stuffed full of every item you could possibly need. Lovely and warm to walk into on an autumn evening, with underfloor heating. Comfortable beds and armchairs. Set in beautiful grounds which we didn’t have time to explore. Just down the road from all the museums and historic sites we wanted to visit.

Visiting couples might wish to know that the two double bedrooms are on the mezzanine level accessed by separate staircases. However, there are only strategically placed screens to provide an element of privacy for these open plan rooms which are in the eaves of the single story building and the bathroom is on the ground floor.

Wow the school house is gorgeous! The photos on the listing don’t do it justice, it’s really beautiful. And absolutely spotlessly clean. We could hear tawny owls at night, which felt really special. Before we arrived I was a bit worried it may be cold as I could see high ceilings in the photos, but there is under floor heating throughout and it’s super cosy.

Loved the property, and the grounds, it is well equipped and has everything you could possible need.

Sofa little uncomfortable (probably ready for reupholstering) style definitely suits the property

Lovely relaxing stay

Lovely cottage, had all facilities available for a comfortable stay. Location was great for Ironbridge.

Mattress a little too firm and the bathroom was too hot. Bathroom window does not open so felt a stuffy.

The School House is amazing, beautiful location, beautiful building & nothing too much trouble for the host. Fabulously equipped with everything you need. Robes & toiletries all provided.

Nothing not to like.

Very beautiful place and comfortable

The stairs were very steep, unfortunately, I think property should state that the stairs are not not suitable fir guests with mobility issues.
