St Michaels Resort, Falmouth

Location is excellent. Views are incredible. It's right across the beach and a 10 minute walk to the town center.

Cleanliness wasn't great and some of the staff weren't as helpful as I'd hoped they would be.

The food was the only positive aspect of the resort, along with the efforts of a small number of serving staff.

There were renovations taking place that were not disclosed to us in advance. Cleaners went through personal belongings, and the room lacked basic amenities such as a safe and a fridge. The rooms were extremely hot at night, and persistent noise from above caused continuous ceiling squeaking. Drilling also began as early as 8:30 a.m. Communication between staff and senior management was extremely poor. We also ran out of water, followed by a complete lack of hot water. Complimentary tea, biscuits, and bottled water were only provided at check-in apparently, and receiving these daily appeared to be a significant ask, when it happened at all. At a rate of €250 per night, this level of service and amenity provision was far below what one would reasonably expect. Overall, this was the biggest disappointment we have experienced at a resort. It took an unreasonably long time for my complaint about our stay to be addressed, and the resort has still refused to provide a copy of their complaints policy.

Location, staff, facilities outside the room. Bar, entertainment and vibe is fantastic! Breakfast is fantastic. Great cocktails and Oli from the bar staff was brilliant- very attentive and polite.

Dated small room- poor facilities including; no iron, iron board, fridge, safe, poor cleanliness of the bath and shampoo/ conditioner dispenser. Spa facilities additional cost - not clearly advertised on booking.com / no option given to purchase separately in the checkout. Bistro Restaurant - evening meal prices are overpriced for portion sizes. They taste great but were tiny - £30 per head a no more than a child portion. It’s a shame as the taste, presentation and service was fantastic. The olive appetiser was poor- blatantly from a har these tiny mixed olives were saturated in brine and at £6 I’d expect them to be better - like ones found in Nando’s!

They automatically add a service charge to every restaurant bill.

Beautiful setting, modern facilities, helpful staff, spa available and good dining options. Stayed for a few days visiting my grown up daughter - hardly ever see her on her own now she has kids so very special
