Jonny's Places

I had a wonderful time at Jonny’s place. During the day the guide and I trekked through the rice terraces toward the several refreshing waterfalls that can be found in the area. Along the way we stopped at various local families, each specialized in a certain product or craft (sarong, bamboo, coconut, spices, and more), for a nice conversation and some kopi (coffee). After the trek, Jonny, his friends (guides) and I relaxed and had dinner on the balcony facing the rice fields surrounding the accommodation. The food was amazing! Genuinely the best Indonesian food I have ever had. After dinner, Jonny usually grabbed his guitar, and together we sang songs while I enjoyed some local rice wine. Overall, amazing experience and a huge recommendation!

An amazing stay with Jonny and his family. We loved it so much we extended our stay. Everything was perfect. The rooms were nice and comfortable, overlooking beautiful rice fields. The home cooked food was some of the best we ate in Indonesia. Jonny arranged some wonderful tours for us to local markets, rice fields, waterfalls. But what made this stay so special to us was Jonny and his family. They welcomed us with open arms. If you want to discover the real Lombok with kind and genuine local people, this is the place. It was an amazing experience; the highlight of our 2 weeks in Lombok and we will never forget the time we shared with Jonny and his wonderful family. We hope to come back soon…

We had the most amazing stay at Jonny's house. The food, cooked by the family, was some of the best we've had across Indonesia. We had a really good day with Aidy who took us around Tetebutu to see the rice terraces, local coffee, waterfalls and monkey forrest. Wonderful family and experience, thank you! Would 100 percent recommend staying here

Johnny was very helpful & hospitality with his family endearing. The home cooking done with love & very yummy. Lots of options on menu for breakfast lunch & dinner . Johnny is a tour guide (we had already planned our own driver & guide) however if you like to hike & walk I’d recommend Johnny if you like points of interest & local knowledge.

The bathroom is shared for the 2 rooms which are upstairs. The stairwell is a bit steep if you have mobility issues (about 4 steep wooden steps )

We were surrounded by beautiful nature. The place was very nice and clean and we even got a free upgrade. The room was very nice and the people were very kind. Jonny did everything he could to make our stay wonderful. The food was great, Jonny’s wife is an amazing cook. We highly recommended staying here!!

We had a great stay at Jonnys! The home was so beautiful, as was view of the mountains. Jonny and his family we were caring and it was nice to experience a local family environment. The food was amazing as well.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights. Jonny’s House is in a beautiful, quiet location overlooking the rice fields. Jonny and his family are very friendly and made us feel welcome from the very beginning of our stay. The food is delicious, home style cooking with a nice variety of local dishes (we recommend the curry and a dish called urap-urap especially). The highlight of our stay was the 2D1N trek to Rinjani second summit. It’s a challenging hike but the views are incredible and we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Jonny helped to arrange a fantastic guide for our hike (our guide was named Yan) who was super nice and knowledgeable, and really looked after us to make sure we had the best experience possible. The room is simple but very clean and comfortable. If you’re looking for a great way to experience Tetebatu with a local family, Jonny’s House is the place!

Located 150 meters off the road surrounded with beautiful rice fields and view of mount Rijiani, Jonny’s house is the perfect place for backpackers and solo travelers who want to really get to know Tetebatu and the amazing people who live here. Jonny is the nicest man ever and will welcome you into his warm family and friends. 10/10 best place I’ve stayed at, can’t recommend enough.
