Spacious, clean, and in a very convenient location, this attractive and comfortable apartment had everything we needed for an enjoyable 3 day stay in Stockholm’s Gamla Stan. The hosts were also very helpful.

Excellent location to see the old parts of Stockholm. Comfortable beds and nice linens. Fully stocked kitchen. Decent sized bathroom and bedrooms, two living areas.

It’s been mentioned in other reviews about the doorframes being so low, but with my husband and two sons measuring 6’1”, 6’2”, and 6’5”, there was quite a lot of bumping heads into the door frames. It would be a good idea to put some padding at the top of the doorway leading into the main floor. The circular stairs to each floor are a challenge, but typical for these types of European apartments. An outlet in the bathroom would be nice, or maybe an extension cord to plug things into the outlet outside of the door so you’re able to use the mirror in the bathroom.

Our stay at The Architects’ House was an absolute delight from start to finish. Henrik is one of those rare hosts who combines genuine warmth, professionalism, and an eye for detail that makes you feel at home the moment you arrive. Communication was seamless—every message was answered quickly and with kindness. We arrived early in the morning after a long flight, and Henrik went out of his way to make sure the apartment was ready for us by 9 a.m. His welcome message was so thoughtful and clear that check-in felt effortless. The apartment itself is stunning—full of character, beautifully designed, and steeped in history. You can feel the soul of Stockholm in every detail. The location couldn’t be better: right in the heart of Gamla Stan, on a quiet, picturesque street, steps away from the subway and the old town’s best cafés and restaurants. Small touches made all the difference—a bottle of wine waiting for us, fresh towels delivered with care, and the cozy atmosphere that made us feel like true locals. Even when a small issue came up with the hair dryer, Henrik’s immediate and gracious response reminded us how much he values his guests’ comfort.
