A lovely apartment in a 400-year old house, with charm to match. Perfectly located in central Stockholm, right in the heart of Gamla Stan, within walking distance to Södermalm and Östermalm. There’s also excellent public transport, with both a subway station and a boat pier nearby, making it easy to reach other parts of Stockholm or the archipelago. It’s a simple apartment, but more than adequate for a week’s stay to explore the city and go sightseeing. All major attractions are within walking distance from Gamla Stan. I fully recommend this place.

The apartment had a washing machine with a dryer, but the drying function didn’t work particularly well. A bit disappointing, as there wasn’t a proper way to hang clothes either. Still, just being able to wash some clothes after a week of traveling was worth its weight in gold.

True to the description as architects' house, it's basic, experimental and unfinished, architects are always on a tight budget. Location is superb. The pictures posted were for other apartment.

On the first day, the bathroom had foul smell of sewer, probably due to vacant days prior. With use, the smell disappeared. Cook top was not easy to use. Coffee mugs would be great too.

Central location, beautiful historic property, peacefulness of apartment, comfortable beds and linen, spaciousness of apartment, five minute walk to supermarkets, bars, restaurants and transport stations, fully equipped kitchen, large bathroom, communication of landlord 5 star.

The apartment is in the middle of Gamla Stan - an easy to walk to local sites, and to go further afield with a subway and ferry stop nearby. There’s also a small grocery store down the street which makes it easy to stock up on groceries. Despite being in the middle of everything it’s incredibly quiet. And the bed is extremely comfortable. It was a great place to recover from jet lag and easily start getting to know the city from. We stayed there for the first 10 days of our trip and were sad to leave our little “home”. We missed it when we came back to Stockholm for a couple of days before returning home. The hosts are very kind and pretty instantly accessible if you have any questions or need help with anything. They went above and beyond what I would expect.

My only suggestion about how the apartment could be improved is to have a more comfortable sitting area (couch and chair). I know this is an individual preference, but we found we didn’t use that area much because of it. Also, because of the nature of having an apartment in an old building, the bathroom is tight. The shower is a bit awkward and the floor a little slippery, but everything is functional with good water pressure and temperature. I only note this, not because it’s a problem, but just to be aware of the setup.

A few more comfy chairs for seating would be great as the property can sleep 6 and really only had enough comfy chairs for 2/3.
