White Swan Inn

Everything! Very clean and comfortable room, excellent food and friendly helpful staff. We loved returning after a day out to find fresh home made cake in the room a really nice touch. The food here is amazing with plenty of choice on the menu for all tastes, I can’t rate the White Swan high enough and hope to return for a fourth visit. A great location to explore the Northumbrian castles, coastline and countryside.

There is nothing to dislike

Great size room - appreciated the welcome drink and cake in the room. Huge range of breakfast options wonderfully cooked. Great location for visiting Alnwick castle of the Holy Island. No noise from downstairs pub (which is well worth dropping in for a drink as is the restaurant which has a fantastic menu - we ate here both nights). Plenty of parking behind accommodation. Staff friendly and overall an ideal place to stay.

Loved everything - the tasteful but slightly eclectic decor throughout, wonderful food (both dinner & breakfast) and especially the little touches like towels folded into a double swan on the bed, and even the spare toilet roll had a swan origami on top! Enjoyed the complimentary cake & especially the sloe gin 😜. The epitome of a small country pub.

It was all excellent especially the food and the real ale . Lovely and well appointed bedroom with good linen .Friendly and attentive staff.We also appreciated the dog free dining room .

The hotel was exactly what we were looking for. While the village itself is very quiet with little nearby, that suited us perfectly—we wanted a peaceful, relaxing base to explore the surrounding area, and The White Swan delivered just that. It’s a charming, beautifully presented hotel. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the décor really stood out—bold wallpapers paired with comfortable, stylish furnishings that made the space feel both cosy and a bit special. The food was enjoyable, and the service throughout our stay was consistently good. The bar area had a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, making it a great place to unwind in the evenings. We also really appreciated the thoughtful touches in the room, like the complimentary cake or scones and a little treat of their own sloe gin—it made the stay feel that bit more personal. Overall, a gorgeous little hotel and a great choice if you’re after somewhere quiet but full of character.
