Really beautiful old building. Staff were fantastic. Drinks in the pub were good.

For £130 I would have liked a bathroom that was joined to my room. Iron and ironing board inadequate.

Located in the town centre and a nice breakfast

It does say it's an old building and floor boards are squeaky and it's not an exaggeration I think every floor board in the entire building squeaks. Busy pub on the nights I was there so quite a lot of noise from the beer garden. I could hear a constant on off whirring sound in my room I think it was the hand dryers in the toilets. Obviously quietens down when the pub shuts.

It was noisy outside in the courtyard with people drinking but it was Xmas eve so to be expected

Great team, great food, great room. I really appreciated the help with the wifi. The room was warm and just right . Definitely stay there again

The situation

Our shower didn't work. The rooms are way too warm. The property needs some renovation. It feels shabby.

Cosy, warm with a decent bar and pleasant eating area.

The bathroom is in need of refurbishment; although it had been cleaned, the engrained dirt and mould around the shower and tap areas was clear to see and off putting.

Free upgrade, good breakfast, room comfortable

I realise it’s very 1570 or 1750 but the shower area really needs a makeover

Very rustic, good location, very friendly staff. Breakfast was yummy!

Being an old building, the ceilings were very low, I am 5ft 8 and only just managed. The husband is 6ft 5 and had to stoop the whole time (apart from the bathroom)…but that’s an us issue. Would have been nice for pre-warn. The bathroom had a lot of mould due to dampness, but it’s a room in the middle of a building. The bar was an issue, although not in the room, was quiet, but the noise in the street was quite loud from people standing outside, and also at kick out time.

It was convenient as we had a funeral to go ti the next day the breakfast was good , staff were helpful as in our original room the bed was pushed against the wall, so only one way to get in as I was sharing with my sister would not be able to get in and out easily so we had to pay another £10 each for our own single room

Concrete stairs outside going up to rooms , they were wet as it was pouring with rain I struggled to get our cases up and no one offered to help with our cases
