Grand Decameron Montego Beach, A Trademark All-Inclusive Resort

Este hotel esta cerrado. Despues del huracán parte de su infraestructura quedo destruida. No solamente no me pude alojar, sino que Booking no me ayudo a reubicarme. Tuve que salir a buscar hotel de manera presencial. Nunca me llamaron. Yo los llamaba para pedirles ayuda, me hagan cortado en mas de una oportunidad. Las cosas que me ofrecían eran de menor categoría o eran alojamientos en casas de familia compartidas. Yo contrate una habitación en un Resort de 3 estrellas con bebidas y todas las comidas incluidas. En la primer línea del mar. Me ofrecían alojamientos arriba de colinas y a 1000 metros de la playa. La mayoría de las playas en Montego bay para ingresar hay que pagar un arancel. Eso los operadores turísticos no lo saben. Te ofrecen cualquier cosa. Total, da lo mismo todo. Ahora recibo un mail diciéndome que intentaron ayudarme (?) Jamás se comunicaron conmigo Las cosas que me ofrecían para reubicarme eran horribles. Muy por debajo del estándar de calidad. Con pésimas puntuaciones. Zonas peligrosas o lejanas. Voy a iniciar acciones legales. Realmente me cansaron. No contraten este hotel. Ni a la cadena Decameron. Booking fue una gran decepción. Atencion al cliente, los operadores, no entienden nada Y me querían conformar enviándome a cualquier lado. No entienden de zonas ni de alojamientos. Falta mucho entrenamiento.

The staff was nice

The rooms were really poor in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. Bathrooms definitely need to be revamped and air conditioning in poor state. Rooms felt dilapidated. Did not pay the same rate which I thought I would pay as per booking.com reservation - I was told that booking.com did not release payment. When I queried the amount as being more expensive than my reservation in booking.com I was told that this is the amount I must pay. Elevator does not work so had to walk four flights of stairs with luggage.

Best food ever. Great kitchen staff. Most of the servers were friendly. Checking staff did not smile once. Orin, the bellman was warm and helpful.

Room had mole. Bathroom was leaking. shower was backing up. most of the staff look angry.

The view of the mountains in the distance is nice, and it’s pretty cool watching planes come in. The lifeguards are friendly and easy to talk to, the waitresses are nice, and sitting on the sand with that distant view can be peaceful. One major thing I can say is the entertainment at night is something to look forward to; honestly, it feels like that’s the only thing this hotel really puts effort into.

The AC is a mess; broken, moldy, with paper shoved inside just to force the air to blow straight. I’d recommend bringing a Lysol spray just to use on the vents before turning it on (if it even works). The fins are busted too. The ocean view is blocked by trees in some rooms, the bathtubs are peeling like they were painted over, and the lamp shades are dusty, old, and falling apart. Now I understand why it costs less than other hotels, but it’s still your hard-earned money and if you value it, go elsewhere.

The whole scenery was good, I enjoyed myself.
