The Old Granary Farm Cottage

Hosts welcoming and friendly. Cottage had most of the the facilities we wanted and the bed was very wide and comfortable. It was very clean. Nice picnic bench and friendly cockerels and hens, that converted me from thinking all hens were creatures I didn't want to know. Lovely quiet, peaceful surroundings and walks from the door.

We found the sitting room was dark and appreciate that due to the age of the building (? listed) not much could be done about that. It could do with something by the sofa on which to put coffee cups, books etc. We used the bench at the table. Similarly there was nowhere by the bathroom sink to put things. Would have liked better instructions for finding the farm. These were only small things and don't mean we didn't enjoy our stay. We did.

The Granary was spotlessly clean and had all the amenities we could have needed. We loved the peaceful location. There are a number of good pubs to eat in the very local area. We tried the Cripple Creek and the Chain bridge - both excellent. Abergavenny is a lovely market town to visit nearby, plus there is plenty of good walking in the area. Ben and Julia were extremely helpful with directions, the Welsh cakes and the availability of free range eggs was a bonus. We will definitely revisit - thank you!

Free roaming hens and beautiful walks straight from the front door

We were messaged to ask if we would like a pint of milk and 6 fresh eggs from chickens on the farm for £2 which was a lovely touch. We were greeted by one of the hosts on arrival and shown round and given all the info we needed and let us know places to go for a nice drink. We loved the peace and quiet and the only sounds were the sheep and chickens which was bliss! Best place I’ve stayed and we will definitely go back again!!

The accommodation was perfect, it was very private and tastefully decorated.

This property was so perfect from location to facilities! it was set in the most perfect farm - if someone said to me what would your perfect home be. it would be this farm. My favourite thing was the chickens and the sounds of all the little birds. Whilst my partner was nursing a hangover I sat outside for hours just reading and watching the nature. The host were so lovely too.

The carefully, restored Old Granary is set in stunning scenery. It offers a peaceful and spacious place to stay and  provides a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, and a good shower.The photos don't do it justice. It is an ideal  base for exploring the area. We were there for a wedding with just a short drive to the church in Llantilio and after to Llantilio House for the reception. The bonus was being on this working farm waking up to its sounds and the tastiest fresh eggs for breakfast!From the warm welcome on arrival till the day we left Ben and Julia despite their long working hours, found the time  to share  conversations, answer our queries and search for freshly laid eggs for us to take home! Their Guest Book is full of very positive comments.Don't hesitate to book!
