The Kip

The Kip was beautiful. Fantastic food. The staff were amazing! So helpful, kind and friendly. We loved our time there, an absolute oasis.

This is an absolutely stunning and peaceful accommodation. The interior and exterior is so beautifully designed and is such a relaxing environment throughout. The staff are all very helpful and friendly, always with a smile and greeting! The breakfast included in the restaurant is some of the best I’ve had in the world in hotels, never mind just in Sri Lanka! I love the idea of in being smaller dishes and being able to try different things! Being able to access clean water for drinking and tea and coffee at any time was a bonus too as we haven’t found this to be the case in a lot of Sri Lankan hotels here. The only negative or comment I would mention is we weren’t too happy with our windows being left open after house keeping had been as we had personal things in our room obviously and letting mosquitos inside too! But other than that everything was perfect and I would definitely recommend this place!

The breakfast was one of the best I have ever been offered. The area were it is served evokes the verdant jungle of its countryside with huge plants, trees and traditional covered area built from sticks, mud and stones. While the ambience is Sri Lanka the food is first class international cuisine with local flourishes and the best tasting coffee in Sri Lanka.

The beds could have been comfier and there was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room.

The Kip is one of the best hotels we have stayed at in Sri Lanka; lovely staff, beautiful rooms, great pool, fantastic breakfast and nice coffee. Ideally located for surfers with an on-site tuk tuk driver and one of the best breaks in the area at the bottom of the road.
