The Old Stable

Loved the set up and location. Very cosy and furnishings were of a very good good quality generally. The little extras such as mini cartons of milk along with sachets of coffee (inc decaf), tea bags and packet of custards creams appreciated. The lounge area and kitchen dining space combined was excellent. two double sofas with cushions and throws. Both bedrooms were spotless and the wooden furnishings dreamy - befitting the cottage style. The kitchen area was modern and packed with equipment to meet your needs. Thank you for providing crockery that wasn't chunky plain and white. Again a little extra touch. Overall spotless. A small waste bin in each of the bedrooms with a large one in the kitchen/ dining area. All with plastic bags. The bathroom had an overhead shower in the actual bath with two handles in the bath and a hand rail to use when showering. Plastic bathmat provided and a lovely bath rug to step out on to. A large shower gel and shampoo provided along with three small tubs of bath lotions in each bedroom and a large hand wash gel.. Know I've gone into detail, but the extras everywhere were nice touches. Finally, a big thank you to Dave the caretaker for getting our heating working and taking time out to check (some 40/45 mins) the system was up and running. Appreciated that you cared.

Don't really like the title of this box - would prefer it was called "what could be improved". Just glitches really....but couldn't get the heating to work using the instructions on the wall. Tried the 2 mobile numbers given on the booking.com page and the one on the welcome board in the kitchen/dining area and neither worked. By chance I spied a young man pushing a pushchair go into another cottage and went to knock on his door. My train of thought being he had youth on his side and might understand the system easier than little 'ol me. By chance I had exactly the right person. He explained he was a caretaker and would be straight round. He turned on the heating, felt the radiators warming up and then checked the hot water was working, took time out to show me how the panel in the hallway worked and then said he would check the radiators were working fully for us again as just the tops of them were heating up initially. Such a helpful person - Dave the caretaker thank you. You made our stay all the better despite my feeling guilty at knocking on your door Friday at dinner time. You asked where we had come from and made small chit chat as you went around the rooms (checking with me that it was ok to go in each one before you entered them). As you left, asking if had sufficient towels was a nice gesture. Dave even asked hubby if we had enjoyed "the gig" as hubby took things to the car on our day of departure. The heating issue was quickly resolved....but we should have mentioned to you that the panel didn't work at all - only found this out late at night. Only the boiler system turned the heating off. Now again, this is a small item. The throws provided were a little scratchy and left small mustard bubbles (throw material) over fleece and jeans. The two bedside lamps in the twin bedded room flashed constantly when switched on. These detail can be quickly fixed.

Lovely clean & comfortable accommodation. Great location for Sewerby Hall, Bempton & coastal walks. We'll definitely return.

Super location

The property was clean and tidy and had everthing that we needed. The location was ideal for access to Bridlington town, Dane's Dyke, South Landing, Flamborough Head and Bempton Cliffs.

The bed was too firm for us, though we accept that this is a matter of personal preference and would be fine for some people.

Recommended. Comfortable, clean and a great location for Sewerby and the coastline
