Dated, but expected. Was impossible to sleep in room due to noise

Noise in room.

Lovely old building with character, exceptionally friendly staff on reception and in dining room, fair price for a single room and breakfast was nice (when it eventually arrived)

Breakfast service was poor: 8-9am is too early & restrictive for a Sunday (I’m on holiday not going to work), no explanation of how breakfast work so I sat at the wrong table, took ages to place an order (despite plenty of staff), food took a long time to arrive, order was incorrect and I wasn’t given a cup for tea, and loads of uncleared dirty tables made it an unpleasant experience. Room was fine, comfortable if quite dated. Worth getting a sea view although windows could do with a clean. Asked for a bath and none available so had to have a shower, which was disappointing.

Location is perfect for mooching around the town and seafront. Parking was available right outside. Very friendly and helpful staff when we checked in.

Room was at back of building with no view at all. At 9.30am we had drilling and hammering the other side of the wall. I think this may have come from a neighbouring property that is joined to the back of the hotel but it wasn't great. The room was okay but a little disappointing for the price.
