The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming. The breakfast offered a great variety of different dishes, and the room was beautifully clean – everything smelled fresh and pleasant. The price-to-quality ratio was excellent. The owner was very friendly and always happy to help with anything we needed. We only stayed for one night, but everything was absolutely perfect.

A highlight of my trip in Sri Lanka. There’s only one room, so you have a privileged and quality time with the family. The family is so lovely, caring and welcoming, I felt at home. Chandrika is doing such an amazing job at being an incredible host and mom. The location was perfect, in a quiet street, walking distance to everything. Beautiful house and room, very clean and comfortable, well-maintained garden. There is an attention to details and you can feel that everything is made with love. And… the food was honestly the best I had in Sri Lanka, Chandrika is a master chef. I would be her first client if she starts cooking classes! I really enjoyed having a chat with all of them and playing Carrom with Sanu. Thank you Chandrika, Hashan and Sanu, I hope to be back one day!

Un accueil vraiment charmant. Shandrika et ses deux fils sont remarquables de gentillesse et pleins d'attention pour leurs invités. Nous avons dîner les deux soirs de notre séjour et les repas étaient excellents et copieux . La chambre est. agréable et propre dans un jardin reposant. Shandrika ou son fils ainé peut vous déposer où vous voulez avec leur Tuc tuc. Allez y les yeux fermés. .

De eigenaresse en haar zonen waren heel vriendelijk. We kregen een fantastisch ontbijt en het diner was ook super lekker. Ze kan heel goed koken. De kamer was schoon. Het ligt dicht bij Lion Rock. We hebben erg genoten van het verblijf, een aanrader!

Don’t look anywhere else, book this place!! There is a reason everyone gives 5 stars. You are super lucky if you manage to get a room here. This is the most beautiful homestay and family in Sri Lanka. They treat you like part of the family during your stay, and the owner is so loving and kind. Amazing breakfast, which varied each day and huge portions, you won’t go hungry here! The dinner is the standout. For less than £5, you get a huge selection of curries and dishes and fruit, she should have her own restaurant with the quality of it. We looked forward to this every single day as it was better than any restaurant food. She arranged our taxis from Negombo all the way to Ella, and arranged cooking classes and safaris at cheaper prices than if we did it. She goes above and beyond. My boyfriend had an injury and needed to go to hospital and they cancelled their plans and the whole family came to help and looked after him. I’ve never seen so much hospitality before. We already miss her and her lovely boys! Their place is only a short walk to all the main attractions, but also away from the businesses, was so sad to leave. Don’t miss out on a stay that will make you remember your trip to Sri Lanka.

We had an amazing stay at Sanu Homestay and honestly couldn’t recommend it more. The family are absolutely lovely, so friendly and genuinely caring, and they made us feel at home straight away. The food was delicious, freshly cooked and generous, and the location is ideal for exploring Sigiriya and the surrounding area. It’s a really calm, comfortable place to stay, and it felt perfect for us as a couple, quiet, relaxed, and easy. A special mention as well for Chandika’s son, Hashan, who was happy to take us out in his tuk tuk whenever we needed, always for a very reasonable price, which made getting around so easy.

WiFi isn’t the most reliable so don’t rely on it for work or streaming.

Wir können dieses Homestay wärmstens empfehlen! Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Super super nette Gastgeberin und Familie und tolles Essen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! In der Umgebung sind viele Restaurants, also Lage ist auch top.
