Sanu Home stay

We loved our stay here and wish we had more time here and in Sigirya. From the moment we got here the owner and her sons so welcoming and friendly. The home stay is very clean, relaxing and peaceful. A 10 minute walk to some places to ear or a short Tuk Tuk away to the main area (you can also walk). A very delicious breakfast was prepared for us in the morning. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Sanu e sua mamma sono delle persone eccezionali, passare del tempo con loro è stata una coccola. Abbiamo fatto colazione e cenato a casa, cibo ottimo. Porzioni abbondati e sapori locali, la cucina di Sanu è tra le migliori che abbiamo provato in Sri Lanka, prezzi ottimi. Tanta ospitalità e gentilezza!

The family that lived there could not have been more welcoming. They made us feel like part of their family. The property was so comfortable and clean. The air con and fan were brilliant. The room smelt amazing. Chandrika, Sanu and Hasan were so keen to help us organise a local cooking class and safari. Chandrika and her mother in law made the most delicious breakfast for us. More food than we could eat! We look forward to coming back to see them again! Sthuthiy!

Very comfortable room with desk to work and good wifi! The family is the highlight of the trip. Just know that you’ll be staying with a family! We loved the experience though. Great breakfast!

Nothing really! Just Sigiriya in general is dangerous to walk at night because of Elephants, so be careful.

New room with super good air condition, shower The owner and her sons are so nice, you become part of the family during the stay The food is so good, huge breakfast and dinner! Location is good, close to the main road but in a quite area.

Being able to live alone with a family that was very welcoming, nice and smiling. The location was calm as it was on a small road.

Unsere Erfahrung war wirklich einzigartig! Die Familie behandelt ihre Gäste mit so viel Liebe und Aufmerksamkeit, wie ich es noch nie zuvor erlebt habe. Das Zimmer ist komfortabel und sehr sauber, sodass wir uns super wohl gefühlt haben. Auch die zwei Söhne der Gastmama sind sehr zuvorkommend und interessiert. So konnten wir uns schon fast als Teil der Familie fühlen. Das Frühstück und Abendessen war alles frisch zubereitet in Mengen wie wir es gar nicht aufessen hätten können. Es war super lecker und wir hatten die Möglichkeit jegliches nationales Essen zu probieren und auch deren Zubereitung zu erfragen. Auch die Lage ist perfekt. Wir waren sehr schnell bei einem Aussichtspunkt mit guter Sicht auf den Lions Rock! Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen☺️ vielen Dank für diese schöne Erfahrung 🫶

My stay with Chandrika and her family was exceptional, I highly recommend it. Chandrika and her sons are always there to help you, keep you company and are very kind. Everything is perfect: the room has everything you need and is very comfortable. It's very clean and you can tell it's new (mosquito net in perfect condition, clean and comfortable mattress). It's just a little hot during the night because there's only a fan, but I knew that when I booked and it's quite bearable. The homestay is well located, a 10-minute walk from the center. The surrounding area is quiet. Chandrika picked me up when I arrived and dropped me off at the bus stop when I left, giving me tips on how to get to Dambulla. She also cooks very well, I had dinner and breakfast there and was able to learn more about Sri Lankan cuisine. The portions were huge, and she even offers me leave with some bananas and rotis. They also took me to Pidurangala rock at 5am, which was really convenient. You can see that this family wants your stay to be perfect and pays attention to every little detail. Chandrika even texted me to make sure I arrived safely in Kandy. She was like my Sri Lankan mom! Conclusion: I recommend spending some time with this family, who know how to make you feel welcome and make things easier for you! There's a reason why people take the time to write long reviews. It's really a great life experience to meet this family

Everything was great

I had such a lovely stay with Chandrika and her two sons. They were such a kind family with big hearts who I looked forward to saying hello to every time I returned. They were very helpful with information about the local area and transport and Chandrika was also very generous with her amazingly delicious food! The room was extremely clean, including the bathroom, which appeared new. The garden is also very nice to sit in. You can tell the family have pride in their home :) Lion rock is very close to the home stay and it’s just a short walk to restaurants, laundry services and the bus stop. I would recommend going to eat at Mother is a Queen restaurant nearby!
