Swallows’ Barn

Really lovely barn with plenty of space! The kitchen area was great for meals as a family The views were lovely Easy to walk straight from door to go for a dog walk The host, Caroline, was really communicative and accommodating. She was aware there may have been noises from some neighbouring cows at that time of year. So she offered for us to change the date (we chose not to) and provided earplugs - very kind The homemade cake!

Everything was as described. Only flag (which wasn't a problem for us) is to be aware dogs aren't allowed in bedrooms - this may be a problem if you have a clingy dog!

The cottage was beautiful, bigger than expected, and very clean. Loved the home made cake and fresh eggs left for us, very tasty. Could not fault anything, beds were so comfy, and a huge selection of books, dvds and games.

Spacious living areas - great communication with host

The views are breathtaking at this property, the sunrise was spectacular. This property felt like a home, very comfy beds, the kitchen was well equipped, the house was warm & cosy with amazing high ceilings. Convenient location for Durham. Will definitely be back.

Huge property in a fantastic location.

Nothing to dislike.

The barn was very spacious and had everything we needed for a family of 7. The location was peaceful with local walks. The hosts were on hand and very helpful. The home made cake was an added bonus.

The location is great if you like countryside but not too far away from some lovely villages. Swallows Barn is spacious, comfortable living areas, dining table to accommodate at least 8 people, good size bedrooms. Amazing views, it’s a farm so expect cows in nearby fields and roaming chickens. Good location for Durham, Newcastle and Beamish Museum.

There was nothing we didn’t like!

This place was amazing you had everything you needed including fresh layed chicken eggs watching the barn owl searching for food in the hedgerow
