Swallows’ Barn

We loved the feel of the house. Beds v comfy and house was warm. Kids loved the corner bath! Thank you for the gorgeous cake and eggs. The chickens came to the back door and we went to visit the cows. The fire was lit both nights and we enjoyed the kitchen space and played games around the table. Grateful for the dvd player too. Beamish was a huge hit and we’d love to come back. Thank you Caroline and Jon.

This is a beautiful very well equipped property. We had a homemade cake on arrival and very thoughtful tea and coffee set up. Comfortable and spacious set up with lovely views.

Unfortunately this was not a peaceful stay. We didn’t get any sleep on the first night due to the large number of distressed noisy cows mooing all night. The cow sheds are right outside 2 bedroom windows and we felt like we were in the sheds. They’d been separated from their mothers that day we later learned, and were genuinely very upset. For the second night we all squeezed into the room furthest away from the cows and bought ear plugs - this helped a little. Very disappointing as we were only here for 2 nights and both nights were very disturbed. I don’t think it’s really fair to let a property with this level of disruption.

Beautiful location and house. Well equipped and very warm. Host could not have been more friendly or helpful.

Missed the signage for the cottage, so took us a few minutes to find.

Excellent communication and information from the host Caroline. The property was immaculate;y presented and was very spacious. Lovely peaceful location.

Beautiful spacious converted cowshed done with the utmost style in the middle of the countryside with gorgeous views and quiet. Absolutely stunning.
