No veggie breakfast. No morning coffee.

I liked how they used historic furniture in the bedroom it was a nice touch for a historic building. The bed was comfortable enough and it’s good they have secondary windows to help with exterior noise and drafts. Staff were friendly and breakfast was a good portion. The parking was good and had a nice welcome from the locals too. Good location.

Where should I start! Room 1: So the furniture was great to look at but one chair was broken, the dressing table leg was broken (wheel was off the back leg) the dressing table side of room was so dark I had to move the bedside lamp so I could get ready and if your a bigger person you won’t fit two in the bed at all yet it was a double apparently- I must say it was a comfortable bed. The cobwebs were massive, I have photos of them they were that big and many were old ones too, the skirting boards were very dusty and the wall by the wardrobe along with the bathroom door and in general the bathroom was not up to standards, the bin had no bag and had basically no toiletries which is a basic, they provided a bit of shampoo and hand cream (too late in the night I realised so I couldn’t ask for anything else) rather frustrating when you have to remove your reusable contacts and you can’t properly wash your hands due to lack of soap! Also the bathroom mirror light wasn’t working, they have put clear tape to hold the light cover on so it would work but clearly it wasn’t working, I had to stand in the bath and hold it for my mom to be able to see in the mirror, I mean that’s basic maintenance, also the extractor fan is so grimy it’s pointless, the other thing that should be looked at is the bathroom mirror- being older it’s very brown in colour and very sharp corners from breakages, it’s not ideal for guests, the window really needs a good clean too just vacuum the gaps and get rid of the flies. At breakfast the staff were very nice but leaving a vacuum on the floor and cleaning around us wasn’t very good plus at one point all we could smell was bleach which makes us feel rather sick so not great when trying to eat breakfast. I work in a large Manor House and every day I have to dust and remove any cobwebs ready for visitors and it’s not a big job especially as the Inn only has four rooms!

Quite possibly the worst hotel experience I have ever had !! Arrived Sunday afternoon to be told there would be no breakfast available as they have no chef Monday or Tuesday. Got to room still trying to decide if it was supposed to be "shabby chic" or it was just tatty ? The bathroom was disgusting with lots of mould and paint peeling. To my amazement in this day and age there was no T.V, in the room. So thought I might as well just eat early 15:45pm went down to bar to be told there was no food available as the chef had already gone home !! at this point I thought this is the last straw got on to booking.com found another hotel and packed up and left.

Fantastic surrounding countryside setting, very welcoming host and charming building

Nothing to dislike other than no tv in room.

Location was good and a place in the restaurant

Had to search for a kettle that worked. No hair dryer. Bathroom was cold.
