La Vida Hostel

The rooftop terrace was great and I loved the hummus & flatbread. Tuna melt was good too. The host and staff were very friendly.

The bunk room was too crowded with ten people in a pretty small space sharing one bathroom with a flimsy door…

Only 1 power point for the entire room and very hot at night

It was clean

Room was so hot and uncomfortable to sleep in, ac didn’t really help. I didn’t sleep well because of this. 10 people to 1 bathroom is chaos, I waited for over an hour to shower. Hostel is not near any restaurants or anything so have to get a tricycle if you want to go out for dinner.

Breakfasts were very good! The burger is a must-try. The roof terrace is perfect to relax or socialize. Reed is a great host and a really fun, interesting guy. Tours were easy to organise and Reed also gave us tips on a good local motorbike loop for a day trip.

The hostel is a 30 mins walk away from the main area. Didn't have a good exchange with the host regarding cancellations of a day tour. I ended up not staying the night just because of the tone of the conversation which was unpleasant, to say the least. Haven't had an experience like this in my 5 months of traveling. This was a shame as it was my first stop in the Philippines.
