Klein Doorn Farm Stay

We arrived after dark and it not was apparent which room was ours. We had to contact the host.

The hot water in the shower is not consistent, and it was difficult to have a hot shower, balancing between too cold and too hot.

Loved the location... the skies, stars and fields. The quiet was amazing. We also had a visit by some Zebras. Absolutely beautiful setting.

It would have been nice to have a plug in the bedroom and a door between the bedroom and kitchen, but ultimately we made a plan.

Loved the landscape surrounding the unit we stayed in. It is so peaceful there. Everything was very clean, and we wanted to do one of the walking trails but the weather said not today. Definitely had to stay more than 2 nights to fully enjoy it!

A few things I would look at that can be changed, and a few that can’t -The braai is too deep to properly braai; the grill did not work on it luckily we brought our own. -The lighter for the gas stove did not work -The seating was a bit weird, there is an outside table and then two inside chairs, so not really comfortable seating. -Maybe the front can be covered a bit more at the open side for more privacy and against wind Other than these it was truly a great stay!

Very quiet and serene. We travelled there in winter and it was nice and cozy with indoor fireplace. The hike to the kloof on the farm is a good distance and beautiful when you get there.

It would have been great if there were some more game on the farm - eg: a few springbuck etc. We saw Kudu tracks in the kloof down the far end of the farm but nothing out and about roaming near the cottages or in the open plains.

Well located and rustic but comfortable as must be expected.

Requires proper Braai tongs and Braai grid for internal Braai enjoyment in winter.

Friendly and responsive owners, beautiful peaceful setting and quaint 2 bedroom cottage. Accommodated a slightly late check in for us. Gas showers were tricky to use but that's a minor issue. Overall had a very enjoyable stay.
