Luray RV Resort on Shenandoah River

The cabin accommodations were exactly what we needed. Everything needed was there. The staff, including David, were extremely nice and accommodating and helped with all our questions. Recommended to rent a golf cart if you don't have one. The property is quite large. They have pickleball, corn hole courts, playground for the kids and tubing on the river and fishing holes. The pool and slides and tiki bar opens memorial day weekend.

The wifi was a bit slow and I didn't have cell service but ATT works there pretty well.

The check-in building had a sign that says open 9-3, but it was still open at 4:15 pm when we stopped by. They let people rent rackets free of charge.

It does not make sense that one cannot rent rackets after 3 pm, as the courts are open until 9 pm. There is an enclosed space for riding bikes, but they do not have bikes for rental. It would be helpful to turn off the lights in front of the bedroom windows.

Location - an easy 9 miles off I-81. Unique camping experience. Trails for walking along the river.

Customer service - lacking big time. I emailed and called several times prior to my arrival. I was traveling alone with two dogs. I wanted to get instructions on a light check out and any information I needed about where I was staying. The man finally called me that evening to let me know my information would be next to the door with a map. Some of the roads don't have names and this is reflected on the map. I arrived around 11:00 p.m. and it was dark I drove around 30 minutes trying to find the space I was supposed to camp in. The roads were not marked. It was also hard to see where the roads were. I was concerned I would end up in a pond or something. It appears that I may have been driving my car and a golf cart accessible only area. There were no lights at the tent. Have the customer service representative spent a little bit of time explaining what I would be coming into it would have made the trip much more enjoyable including how to actually get into the tent since there are obviously no door knobs. Overall the experience was pretty unpleasant and I didn't sleep well because I was provided with a sheet and it was 30° outside. Most of this could have been prevented had the gentleman or somebody answer the telephone and explain to me how to find the property instead of just saying it's on the map and the nuances of the tent. They should also provide some sort of a blanket. Night lights for the exterior would also be nice. One other thing to note is it is loud. It's near a highway and maybe it was because I was freezing to death and not able to sleep that you could hear every car that went by. My suggestion for the owners would be to have a couple cabins for people who are just staying one night or for late arrivals. Just a little more effort on their part could have made my trip a little bit easier.

Neighboring guests made loud noise until 3 am. Got very little sleep. No one on staff to enforce the rules.
