Barn conversion with hot tub

Location ok.

Cottage was filthy. TV didn't work. No hot water. Hot tub smelled musty. Glass furniture in bedroom smashed. Spiders everywhere. Dirty oven. Frozen up icebox on fridge. I don't even think the bedding was clean. We left after 2 nights even though we had paid for 3 nights.

I paid for this night away for my brother and his girlfriend as a joint 30th birthday present for them both and they couldn’t even stop there the cleanliness was disgraceful. I got into with the owner multiple messages phone call and pictures/video to be ignored. It was a lot of money to waste for him to not even reply with some sort of agreement to sort this weather it was another night sorted once cleaned or if they had to clean while they cleaned or even a refund it was so bad for both the state and the rudeness.

Would have liked it to have been a bit cleaner. There were no tea towels and the mugs looked like they needed washing before use. Some bottles of hand soap would have been a good addition. Very lovely property, just little things like cobwebs and carpet stains. Just seemed a bit unloved, but we liked it all the same and the beds were super-comfy!

I had to find the phone number from my emails to contact the owner to get the code. He said this should’ve been sent automatically and apologised.

The hottub

No privacy in the living room or in the kitchen no blinds or curtains at the windows, trash bin wasnt emptied rubbish and beer tops on top on the cupboards and no washing up liquid or tea towels

There isn't anything I liked about this property which is disappointing as it could be a lovely property.

The property is unkempt. It needed cleaning, everywhere. The windows were covered with handprints and the shower screens and mirrors were grubby. The toilet still contained what the previous resident had left. There is zero privacy as there are no curtains. The WiFi and TV did not work. A camera watches the hot tub. Paint was peeling from the walls. The owners were extremely unhelpful and rude and blocked communications.

While the dairy is beautiful and the scenery is so lovely, there is so much potential for this place. I hope this information will help and in the future the dairy will be a clean, cosy and lovely place to stay.

Whilst staying I realised how much dust and dirt was in certain areas to the top of the cooker, the toilet seats in both toilets, thick dust on the silver cabinet in the living room, dirt on walls and door handles, also dust, cobwebs on the ceilings and other areas to. Shower glass was dirty. I personally think the cleaning charge is too much when it’s not clean in a lot of places. When arriving me and my partner checked the hot tub as that’s one of the main reasons we booked the dairy barn, when looking at the hot tub there was a pair of scissors, a bracelet and some other rubbish. When messaging the host Sam to tell him about this I was told someone would be round in 20 minutes but I left for 4 hours as I went out for my birthday. I expected when I come back that this was clean and sorted but that wasn’t the case, so I called the host Sam as it states any enquiry’s please don’t hesitate to call in the email that I was sent but when speaking with host Sam he was quite rude and sarcastic, explained that someone came out and swept around the hot tub and said I wasn’t in, that there is nothing he can do at 10:00 at night, but when explaining to him that this is the only reason I booked the place and I did say there was scissors that it was in the water I was basically fobbed off and was told someone came out to swept the floor but I didn’t report that there was rubbish on the floor but appreciated but the matter wasn’t resolved. On the other hand Jay the other host was apologetic and said there had been some miscommunication.

The property was very unclean. Both toilets were splattered and had dried urine on the seats and the rim. The shower screens in both bathrooms were covered in limescale, and the sinks/taps were filthy too. The mattress was badly soiled, and the bed sheets stained and ripped. The pillows smelt awful. The kitchen wasn't much better, and there were no curtains at the windows, so no privacy.The hot tub had a thick scum line around the top and there were bits floating in the water. Needless to say, we didnt unpack, and left. I contacted the owner who agreed to give me a refund based on my photo evidence, but he has since refused. I wish I'd taken notice of previous reviews!!
